Went to 4 stores yesterday trying to find 5w40 Diesel oil in any brand
I just picked up two cases of T6 from my local Menards (Auburn Hills Michigan), they have a healthy inventory of all brands including T6. The T6 was $23 and change per gallon before the Menards 11% rebate. I also grabbed a couple of cases of CK-4 15w-40 and 5w-30 (wife's buggy) from Costco, which were $35 and $33 respectively.

T6 was in short supply but it looks like it is coming back to shelves.

I have been seeing tomato plants selling for 5 dollars a plant. I am glad I still have some local greenhouses to go to buy my tomato plants.
Yes, most of the stores are selling garden starts are $5 each and it’s getting harder to find 6 pack plants anymore. They have pretty much gone to singles: a way higher profit.

Went to 4 stores yesterday trying to find 5w40 Diesel oil in any brand for spring oil change. Had given up looking for T6, Blaine's website said they had 2 gal jugs in stock of their house brand. Every diesel oil shelf completely empty. So after two months of trying to find 5w40 I decided to give up and skip this spring's oil change. Stopped at O'Reilly's for some other stuff and ask clerk did they happen to have any 5w40 full syn? Leads me back to a picked over shelf with three remaining jugs of T6 on it. $31.95 per gallon, which truly is a fair price right now. I have bought a lot of T6 for 19.95 a gallon less 4.00 per gallon rebate...so just about double price. Saw a five gallon pail of delo a few weeks ago for $229.00☹️
Our local Cummins shop has 5W-40 valvoline synthetic for $30/ gallon jug. Go to a local truck shop and see what they have.

There are still plenty of privately owned greenhouses here which sell them in 6 paks. I'm going to date myself and say that we used to sell them in boxes of "Baker's Dozens"... in wooden boxes that my brother and I made in the cellar at night.

We picked up six 48 count flats of bedding flowers and vegetables for $11.95 a flat yesterday at a local greenhouse. The 4 packs were $1. That's only .25 per plant.

Geraniums were $1.75 a piece in 2" pots, so we got 18 of those. Same for spikes.

Then we went to a local perennial greenhouse and got a bunch of perennials in 2" pots for $1 each. 6" potted perennials were anywhere from $6.99 - $12.99 depending on the variety.

I hope yo didn't get em off of craigslist.:ROFLMAO:
🤣 No. It was out of the trunk of some guy's car. 🤣

There's a place about 45 minutes southwest of us called Bailey's Discount Center. They have a huge kitchen and bath remodeling center and then they have their discount store. The guy buys overstock, salvage, expired, truck crashes, all kinds of stuff, and sells it. So there's tools, home furnishings, patio stuff, carpets, furniture, clothing, appliances, canned and boxed foods, candy. You never know what's going to be in there.

They've got skids of canned goods. Small cans to the large cans. They had 6 #10 cans of apple butter for $14.99 🤣

You want crushed tomatoes? They got crushed tomatoes... literally 😛

It's a fun place to go and poke around.

I did notice, that their 2 huge isles of tools had shrunk to about 1 isle. I'm guessing the supply chain issues have affected them. Makes sense. Since there's a shortage of new metal tools, there's gonna be a shortage of salvage and overstock for them to purchase.

Were the tomato plants $11.95/flat also?

$6.71 per gallon for aviation fuel for my little plane. Diesel at a number of places on the way to the airfield was above $5.

$14.10 for Burger King Impossible Veg Burger, Med Fríes and Med Diet Coke...

I thought it was a misprint...

Sorry, my mistake. $11.90 per flat, not $11.95.

From their facebook page:

A flat of 12 four packs makes a flat. A flat of 48 plants is $11.90. You can mix four pack veggies in with your flowers if you wish. We are located at 3614 W. Western Ave. South Bend, IN. M-F 9:30-6, SAT- 9-5, SUN-9-2 The full list is available at martinsgreenhouse.org

I had to go back and check, I thought you were talking about "tomato" plants. o_O

We've got a chain which started out like that about 50 years ago. They used to be a great place to find deals, and you never knew what they might have. Now they still have surplus along with a lot of Chinese junk. Last year just when my percolator started throwing the GFI (including sparks and smoke) I happened to find a new percolator there. I brought it home and plugged the new cord into the old percolater on a whim... and have been using it that way ever since.

Yep, might be a reason why they were priced so "high"... but regular cookies are edible in the old fashioned sense of the word.

A tire on my daughter's Civic had a slow leak from the TPMS sensor. I carried the wheel/tire into a local tire shop and handed them a new TPMS sensor to install. It took them no more than 3 minutes to install. Charged me $35 labor, plus tax. Looking back, I'm surprised they didn't charge an $8 "shop supplies fee" on top of the labor...

$7.95 for a gallon of diesel.
$5.00 for a head of lettuce
$2.00 for a cucumber
$11.00 for a 2" x 4" x 8' SPF
$224 for a 24' length of 1.5" x 1.5" steel tubing

The sad thing is, it is only going to get more expensive.

I think the inflation rate is closer to 50% instead of the 8% reported in the news lately.

I also believe that prices are being raised just because of all the inflation talk. And that in turn has a 'snowball effect'.
