bucket level indicator paint on the rod

How do you get the mark to stick?
I'm considering taking mine off and milling a slot in it so the paint won't scrape away

My bucket rod is cut at same length as end of tube when bucket is level .... IF rod is poking out of tube bucket lip is up, if rod has disappeared into tube bucket lip is down....

Nice trick. To do that, I'd need two rods one for the bucket and one for the grapple

I took a dremel with a cutoff wheel and made a small groove in the rod then painted white. Did it 3 years ago still good

I had one put on my Deere when I bought it. I have yet to use it once. Eyeing the top of the bucket works for me.

I just know that "about an inch exposed" I'd level. For me, that's close enough

What I did was to file a flat spot so that a contrasting paint (used white paint) would not get rubbed off.

Your mailing a mark sounds the way to go. Two marks if needed. Paint can be applied, wiped off while leaving it in the milling. Different color of paint if needed.

I did the same with mine.
Just cut the rod off so level with the tube the bucket is level.
Works very well.
