Good Morning.
It’s 45 here in Marinette, WI, which is across the river from Menominee, MI, where we left our passenger.

Yesterday was an interesting one, it was foggy in Lebanon, NH where we needed to pick up our passenger, hovering right around the minimums for the instrument approach. We suggested that he drive to Manchester where the weather was no better, but had lower minimums. He wasn’t buying that, and wanted us to go to Lebanon. So we went to Lebanon, did the approach, never saw the airport so climbed back up through the clouds. The tops of the clouds were lower than the mountains, makes it you have faith in the equipment to descend into them.

So off to Manchester, where the weather deteriorated below minimums for the runway that had assigned to us, so we canceled that approach and switched runways, finally getting us back on the ground to wait for the passenger to arrive from Lebanon. And of course, he complained about now going to late for his meeting in Menominee…..

Fortunately for the trip west we were over that front moving eastward that brought the rain and thunderstorms.

The weather looks good for today’s return though, we will even have a tailwind.

Condensation seems to be the worst in humid areas. That metal cools off at night and moisture is attracted to the colder walls.
I think plastic walls would condense less but just guessing.
I had to drain the Racor filters in my boat of water pretty often in Florida. Much less in Chesapeake.
When I put in my diesel tank on the farm, went with the double filter, first sediment, then water. Since I used one full tank of diesel a year, about 250 gallons, never had problems
with water. Was taught a long time ago to keep tanks as full as possible. I use both Sea Foam and Stabil Marine in most equipment regularly.
Water is bad news for DI fuel systems, I think it can damage injectors.

I can't buy E0 anywhere nearby, sure was spoiled by that in NC. Yesterday regular was 5.29 and diesel was 6.79. Now I know what California or Hawaii feels like.
Not a good time for me to go on a long drive. Going to fill up car this morning in NJ. Sometimes VA has lower prices, always wonder where to pull off and get gas.

Roy, no idea. Does plastic tank condensate?

No where near as much as metal.
If there was more than a gallon of water, I’d be hard pressed to believe it was condensation. Was it running when it went to the dealer? If so I can’t imagine it had the water in it then. Sure looks like the dealer’s storage is suspect to me.

60° and 73% humidity, not 99% like yesterday.

The new cat Tiger thinks the new kitten Pebbles is a toy. Wouldn’t leave her alone last night in basement, so we let Pebbles sleep in Family Room on the couch. We put litter box in there just for her, since she doesn’t do much.
I layed on couch with her some, she fell asleep next to me. I wanted to bring her up to bed.

So much work needs done at home, but going to paying work gets in the way. Garden needs planted. Yard needs mowed, need to trim tall grass under deck. Never got forsythia trimmed. Shed needs finished. Need to go see dad.
Need change ZT oil.

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 4:15AM. Sunny. High 93F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Sunny. High 93F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Very nice night out, so the sliding doors are open in the office and master bedroom to let in a breeze. Mr. or Mrs. Jackrabbit wondered by softly squeaking to itself, just loud enough to wake me. Those super bright LEDs on the back porch clearly showed who was making the noise.

That phone cam pic was no match for Ron's moon shots Billy. It also didn't look much like what my eyes saw, either. We had just enough cloud cover to almost, but not quite block seeing the moon at all, and what there was to see was much fainter and darker red. The phone used about a three second exposure to gather enough light to register, and I enlarged it with software, which brought out all the "grain".

I should think your passenger wouldn't mind being a little late to a meeting if the alternative involved smacking into a mountain, not to mention the added fuel costs involved in the aborted approaches, Paul. Misplaced priorities on their part?

The boys finished moving the last of the dirt from the water tank cut yesterday, and all that remains for them to do is trench from about half way up the drive to where it ends at the cul-de-sac. My other neighbor that owns the trencher suggested using it to break up the rock that's stopping any more work at reducing the driveway slope, but the contractor says he's out of time right now and needs to move on to other promised jobs. I don't feel real pressed to get the land line telephone working again because so far cellular service has been pretty reliable. So I'm tempted to let the dust settle for a while and give some thought to just leaving the driveway as is.

Meanwhile I think I've found a way to hack a HomeKit compatible leak detector into a water level sensor in the tank at the top of the hill. Only trouble is it sends an alarm when it gets wet, and I need it to send an alarm when it goes dry. So I've a little more homework to do on that one.

Got more mowing done yesterday, maybe half way there. More to do today, more than I can finish before it gets too hot to cut. Hope to get an earlier start today, though.

What maintenance does ZT need other than the engine oil?
I wouldn't think so (plastic tank comment).
As far as maintenance, oil and air filters, valve adjustment at a certain interval...typical for an air cooled engine. Hydraulic filter for the transmissions...

Yes, it was running...when I pull it out after storage, I always run for 10 minutes or so...move it around some too.
I'm surprised it ran too, but the water would separate from the gasoline and the pick-up was probably above that level.
The tank was full, so no need for the dealer to fill it...plus, they don't have fuel storage on-site.
I'll ask, but I'm pretty sure the water was from the local gas station's tanks
