Guys won at H&F, but the Gals gave us a scare pulling dangerously chose near the end.

My grilled chicken didn’t look exactly like the picture but was delicious. Fortunately I made extra. The Kabocha soup was just as good as previous batch.

Need to plan a run into town, that may or may not happen today with the price of gas meaning such an excursion is in $12-$15 without buying anything. Trips maybe be less spur of the moment for awhile.

You got to love June at least here in Lancaster. 73F Sunny with some clouds in the sky. The EGO battery is just about charged for the second half of the yard. Today is the first day of prep for my Colonoscopy Monday. Most of what I eat is off the list. Cream of wheat and a banana for breakfast. Vanilla yogurt, peeled apple and a plain baggel for lunch.

About Mailboxes. When we were first married we lived down in Matthews NC. The house had a ditch next to the road. The post was planted in the damp dirt of the ditch. Twice the mailbox was knocked down but it was undamaged and I put it back in the hole and stomped the dirt down. Good as new.

PopG, I remember that you were flying and lost an engine and had to land in Allentown. I remember you saying something about a rental engine and calling in a mobile mechanic. What happened next?

just took a nice long shower to get the crud off me, a fun morning.
First bought two small shrubs at local nursery and got them planted along garage.
Then since I'm not weedeating today, and my neck felt ok, decided to sharpen the blades and grease the mower.
Blades went easily, but oh the middle spindle zerk gave me fits. Not sure green grease went in at all. Guess I'm going to have to take off
the extension and just use a normal grease gun fitting.

As I was putting on the last blade, noticed it didn't tighten all the way. Have to wiggle the blade to get it to seat in all the way.
Went back and doublechecked all the blades, tried one more time to grease that one fitting, and was so sweaty and covered in dirt, wet grass and green
grease that I had to stop.

funny thing was my friend with the weedeater came back and said he had his days wrong, the weedeater was now available.
No thank you, I've done enough for today and like feeling clean.

replaced the 3amp fuse in the gen to proper ten. Now this is interesting, maybe someone can explain. Push the start button with the 3 amp fuse, 1001, 1002, starter engages and
gen starts.
Push the start button with the ten amp fuse and turned over immediately. ?
Frankly I thought the 3 would blow but must have been a functional slow blow because it never melted.
I now have a 140 piece assorted fuse set, am ready for the future... Big kit costs less than buying four or five individual fuses.
I took two of each and put them in an envelope to Popgadget for his help. Still leaves me 8 of every size.

Lug nut torque - had to chuckle when I read this the other day when I added the spacers to the BX. Like I’m about to wrestle those weighted wheels for fun. What I did do was triple check each nut.

Also, since using landscaping fabric between my garden rows, I don’t use tiller any more.

That reminds me. Talking to dad, he said bush hog bolts for gearbox came loose again. The bolts on bottom are under the stump jumper. My 98 yr old dad removed the stump jumper, got the bolts tightened, but couldn’t get stump jumper back on by himsrlf, so he flipped the mower, and got it all put back together. By himself, he won’t wait for help.

This winter I just got one head per plant but last year I had multiple heads that kept coming after cutting the big ones off. It's got to be one of 3 things - temperature, soil or plant variety.

Came back from the errands, took longer than I expected..... temp was already at 94°. So another recuperation day.... didn't get any nap, now too late, otherwise I'll be up half the night. Current temp is 98°.

BEF, really... a turtle up a tree.... that would be interesting.

Drew, they make 90° grease adapters, would that work? They are under $10.

It's odd how some of the younger generations will have that 'spirit' and some will never get it. We have 3 children, all 18 months apart in age, all college graduates. Our daughter (the oldest) is a go-getter... 4 degrees, including 2 Masters. Our middle son (mechanical engineer) is always working, plus building/ renovating, always doing something. He doesn't hesitate to help anyone out either.
Then the third.... BS in psychology and criminal science..... the laziest person that I have ever met. Expects everything to just fall into place without any effort on his part. Finds an excuse not to do anything.

I can't figure him out.....

Did work on shed a little this evening.

Stopped at a bakery this afternoon where everything is baked fresh, they even grind their own flour. Got scones, bread, cherry pie and a roast beef sandwich on their bread. Yum.

We both tuckered out.

Sounds like you'll be busy at work! Were they just lazy or were they too busy to take the time to update everything?

decided he would find a quieter place.

Quite cool this morning at 56, I hope to get both spraying and mowing done today.
Nice lunch with my daughter yesterday, 42 and still daddy’s girl.
My son who is 46 is having some heart issues stemming from open heart surgery he had when he was 4. He was born with Tetralogy of Fallot. He’s done quite well and was able to play high school sports and pretty much be normal. There are always later life complications, just a matter of what and when. He was fortunate to have the premier pediatric cardiac surgeon in the country if not the world at the time, Dr Gardner at Johns Hopkins who later became chief surgeon in Atlanta. He used a method that was new at the time and is still being done with modifications. They might have to replace the pulmonary valve, which now can be done through the artery like my aortic valve was. Absolutely amazing what can be done with minimal invasion nowadays.

Glad your daughter is still a daddy's girl. Prayers for your son's situation.

Morning all, sun is up, 64 going up to 80, no chance of rain until at least tomorrow......

Got the new climbing rollers for the pool robot, easy swap out.
However it took me a while as I had to remove a large snapping turtle from the pool.
Wonder if this was one of the 3 babies I saved 2 years ago?
Relocated to front of property, trying to figure out how it got into pool area, certainly too large to go through fence, so will need to find and close off wherever it dug through.

Amazed at how well armored these turtles are. and the claws, beak and tail can all do damage.
While small compared to many I've seen, this one luckily was groggy when I netted it.

Prayers for Buppies, and team, our country and Ukraine. I was headed to the parking garage after work on Thursday, and an elderly man was walking with an F1 car racing hat. I asked if he liked car racing, and with a very strong accent and some sign language, he told me he his English was minimal...and that he was from Kiev Ukraine (Ook rah een). I told him with homeboy sign language that many are praying for his country. He nodded his head and said thank you.

Work is going to be a long road, somewhat uphill. There are so many things I'd like to change, but I'm not in the position to be the one to make the decision to change. I will "gently" recommend things and see where it goes. But there is also a long punch list of items that need attention. Job security. I hope my new job is recession proof. I think it might be.

I was off today and Good thing because I did not sleep well. Our dryer's rollers started making noise Monday, so with I had to tell wifey not to use dryer (for a few days). The roller/belt kit came in Wednesday, and so I was a dryer mechanic last night. I took it all apart to blow out all the lint. My wifey was sure impressed and happy. But I got up anyway at 6 am because I needed to crawl under the house to check my HVAC flex duct. It was actually still intact fairly well, but needed some fresh tape wrapped around where it connects to the main ducts. I don't like going under the house.

My Speedaire compressor's original Dayton 2hp 220v motor is going out. I DO NOT leave the breakers on. I see sparks from short circuiting in it. Not sure why. It has new bearings. I wonder if the wire coating is wearing off? It is old. This pump already burned up a nice H.D. 1 hp motor Baldor. It would start fine with it, but I guess the overamperage demand just got to it. Now I'm debating on possibly replacing the motor with a Surplus Center cheap Marathon motor, or go get another old SpeedAire from my Buddy about 130 miles away....humm 260 miles at 15mpg in the SUV at 4.49/gallon = $77.83 vs a new motor shipped.

Here's a question, old motor rated at 12amps when setup for 230volts. I can't find a 2 hp motor with that high of an amperage rating.
The marathon is only 7.5amps. Even a 3hp motor shows 7.5amps. Should I continue looking?
