The larger 52” EGO zero turn equipped with six 12aH batteries is priced at 6999 at my nearest Ace Hardware. It says up to 4 acres of cutting time, so I believe it should do the two acres I mow. I’m on my second season with an EGO push mower for trimming around the house and fruit trees. So far it has performed very well with the one exception being the battery run time is overstated. I’ll drop a second battery in the charger before I start trimming when the grass is high or damp, in case I don’t make it. My wife thinks I should try the 52” EGO and sell the 1023E I’m currently using to mow. I’ve enjoyed the no gas or lube in everything electric that I have so far. With the direct drive mower spindles there is no belts or greasing either. Maybe she is right.

I like some of this person's take on EVs, and all her reviews. She doesn't seem to give a "Squeek," if her impression, of that the car is a bad design, and this is a rare thing on the internet. She is kind of crazy, but in a good way that she is following her passion.
She's not short on gray matter for sure.

So apparently some of the massive mining dump trucks are now battery powered now. And have 14 hour run time. Which caught me as a surprise. Which comes as a surprise to me, I'm amazed that they could run that long.

That EV mine vehicle was released over a year ago.
I wonder how the trial went, is it still going, etc?

In the article, the 120 ton EV was compared to a 100 ton ICE machine. Does this imply there is a 20% weight penalty for going electric? Certainly easier to absorb on a hulking beast like that, which does not drive on regular pavement.

Finally, if materials for everyday transportation EVs are on short supply, what would fleets of machines this size do to supply?

Here is an EV option that could meet the needs of many even better than the Nissan Leaf but has an expired rebate option. Having a round trip range of over 200 miles would permit all home charging for destinations within 100 miles. That could go to 200 miles for an overnight family visit who had right power outlet but when the majority are driving EVs this would not be of much concern.

I found this comparison to be revealing. Yet I do have issues with what size ICE truck one would need to tow a 6,000 lb boxy camper trailer. You don't need a GMC Denali getting less then 9 miles per gallon. So I don't think that was fair, yet the E-150 only got 83 miles on a charge while towing? If this was done correctly, the authors should have found the highest MPG ICE that was rated to tow the same and then compare that against the EV Truck.

Maybe. In my state, 32% of electricity is generated by wind and solar.
That's all well and good, but this is a world-wide initiative. And yet, world wide doesn't have anywhere near the sunny cloudless days of new mexico.

I think Texas has more wind farms than any other state. They are everywhere in the west and central parts.
