Yoke removal from post hole digger gearbox.

Cannot find a clear path for removing this yoke. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Looks like set screw only no snap ring? Penetrating oil, heat and maybe a puller with gentle force?

Looks like a roll pin in the small hole at the yoke. It's there to prevent the shaft from coming off when the shear bolt breaks. The pin rides in a groove on the gearbox input shaft.
If the hole is threaded, then see if it's a set screw. ...


Don't use a puller until you can see through the small hole the full diameter.

On mine i cut the pipe off right at the yoke
and then on the inside cut the pipe in half
with Milwaukee saws all and used Milwaukee
metal blades after I tapped out the roll pin.
I used up 4 metal blades don't remember the
brand but it only took one Milwaukee blade
and its still good!

A bearing puller should work too.

Make sure any roll pins or retainers are out. Hold yoke with one hand, take air chisel to shaft in center of yoke, it should just about float off of there.
