Anyone have a recommendation for a GPS tracker for their equipment?

Theft insurance is cheaper than trackers. My trailer is insured for $6
k and costs $23 per 6 months and my Kubota Tractor insurance I think is about $450 a year.
Does it reimburse you for down time until you replace your stolen equipment?

That is a good question and I don't know the answer. But I would guess NO. That is why I first invest in GPS, and expensive lock, keep the trailer visible with the camera system, and receive movement notifications.

I would MUCH MUCH rather be able to prevent than use insurance. But that is assurance at the end of all provisions. Even with insurance, I would loose money - chains, binders, tool and toolbox.

I guess if it was for business, I might file a claim with ins and replace ASAP and limit down time in anticipation of payment from ins.

I could use at least 6 of them to put on tractors, excavator, side by sides and a work truck.
I haven't been able to really figure out what to use and what to avoid in my web research.
Not looking to get killed in monthly fees either.
If you’re trying to figure out GPS trackers for your tractors, excavator, side-by-sides, and work truck, I get it—this stuff can get confusing fast. It’s a lot to sort through, especially when you’re trying to avoid paying out the nose in monthly fees or buying something that doesn’t do the job.

The SpaceHawk GPS tracker could be a good option. It updates every 3 seconds, so you’ll always know where your equipment is, right down to the second. The geofencing feature is pretty sweet too—you can set a boundary and get an alert if anything moves outside of it. Perfect for keeping an eye on your gear. Plus, it’s waterproof and has a tough magnet mount, so you can slap it on pretty much anywhere without worrying about it falling off. Only catch? It’s $9.95 a month for the subscription. That’s not too bad for one, but if you’ve got several trackers going, it can start to add up.

There are other trackers that come with a year of service included, and that might sound tempting because, hey, no monthly fees for a while. But remember, those often don’t update as frequently—maybe every few minutes instead of seconds. They do have a longer battery life, which is great, but you might need a waterproof case if you’re dealing with rough weather or muddy conditions. Something to think about.

In the end, it comes down to what you really need. If you want instant updates and don’t mind a small monthly fee, the SpaceHawk is worth a look. But if you’d rather save on subscriptions and don’t need updates as often, a tracker with a year of service included might be the way to go. Just think about whether quick alerts and rugged design are worth the cost, or if saving on fees and having a longer battery life fits your needs better.
