which battery polesaw do you like?

I returned a Dewalt 20v pole saw last week because it felt to me so heavy at the cutting end.

Hate to spend $600 on a nice gas pole saw and then ruin it carrying it on the tractor.

Ain't using no misery whip, neither.

My tractor has the rough cut mower mounted on the FEL, works pretty well for clearing paths 48" wide. The tractor is articulated and works well on slopes. It's what i use on my property.
We had a tractor with a flail on do the wide parts of our trails over the weekend but we haven't seen what they look like in person. Here is pics we were sent by the fellow of did that.

So, about that new 6x6 ....
Its not been uncrated yet. Not sure when we'll be seeing or receiving this new unit. I will say that we used the old unit over the weekend and might be one of the best trail working investments we've made over the past 5 years. (not a recent pic)

I have the Stihl AP standard length.

Don't find it too heavy and balance is good.

Never run out of battery power in the field...

I do have to change out my chainsaw battery if I'm out all day clearing...

Very pleased with the saw, works well and keeps me away from poison oak.

Went with the AP because already have the batteries and quick charger.

Actually like using it snd get a lot done just walking through... kind of like a lance of days of old...

I thought the Dewalt 20v handle and middle pole sections were extremely light. It was just something about the weight of the motor at the chainsaw end that seemed to me to put a lot of leverage on where I was holding the saw.

It's hard to shop for a pole saw when local retailers don't actually keep them in stock to handle first hand before ordering. So I appreciate getting feedback from members here.

Seems we have more battery powered pole-saws in our retail stores than gas fired ones here.

Well...I think they are pushing the battery powered pole saws by not stocking the gas ones.

I'd like to compare the weight and leverage exerted by the gas powered options. I ordered a telescoping Echo gas pole saw a few weeks ago. When it got here, the weight was just too much for me and I returned it.

If they would actually stock what they sell on line to compare in the store, it would make it easier to choose something. There are two models of lighter Echo gas saws that I'd really like to compare...but they aren't stocked near me.

Lots of people look at those telescoping models and think "that must be the best".... Then after they get into the field and hold that weight up to cut half-a-day, then they say the same thing you did. What is why we don't use or recommend the telescoping style.

I have been running the DeWalt 60V for over a year now and I had high hopes for it, but I have to admit, its still pales in comparison to even my small gas Stihls. At first we loved the light weight, instant start and quiet operation.
Now, we are back to the Stihls for anything more than grass or weeds. Heavy stuff with a pole saw, there’s no comparison if you have to work 2 hours or more. We usually take clearing jobs that are several days long and the electric stuff pretty much stays in the truck now.
Love it for trimming around my house and one customers place that has light grass trimming.

At the farm we have the big gas Stihl with max extensions.

It is a beast if using any length of time… perfect for those once a year very high trims my battery saw can’t reach.

I could never justify buying one since I have access if needed… that sucker just wears me out and I feel it the next day.
