Whitbread, I think you could use a little more weight on that trailer. Nicely done!
That's a light load! I had it way heavier with a tornado blown down 40" black walnut in may. That load was still lighter than a 23klb off road man lift I hauled for a friend. That thing was HEAVY!

I purposely ordered the heaviest spec non FET taxed trailer I could to do exactly this type of stuff. Its been unbelievably handy!

Another wood scrounging day here today... My friend came over and we went back to my woods, and like yesterday, I brought him the wood with my tractor, and he cut it to length,

My friends Husky 576 really rips!

anyway, like I said, I brought him wood and he kept cutting until we had a pretty decent load!

SO, off to the splitter we go, then we rolled the big rounds using a board, right onto the splitters beam,

All of them were fairly big and they made a lot of splits. I love the wood (heat) that you get from those big rounds!

Out of that load, we filled 3-3/4 of my half cord boxes.

If you think the 576 rip you should try some of the hopped up 372’s we use to run 15k in the cut with full comp 32’s. Nothing wrong with the 576 they were just heavier and couldn’t spin the rpm’s like the 372’s they tried to replace. Another one would be the 500i’s they honestly do really well same weight as the 372’s with the power of the 390’s a nice combo for falling/bucking.

Well, a truck came for the construction lumber I milled out, so I loaded it up for him and I was glad to see it go!

Then I loaded an old oak log on the mill and made some 4x4's for me,

I cut a couple of them off with the Husky 550xp, because I needed them a bit shorter, for a little project I'm working on,

Now I have a way to easily carry looong poles when I want to haul them! (or my canoe)

Dang! This project took forever to complete, but it's finally now done!

It didn't leave me much time left to get anything else done today, but I did manage to skid a little firewood!

I have a tractor job to go to tomorrow, so I'll have to get it cut up some another time...

The trailer is 10' long, adding the ladder rack allows me to carry longer things like long lumber, long ladders or even my canoe and pull it with a smaller vehicle.

If I decide I don't need the rack in there, I can lift the rack out with my tractor.
