68F and "Fair" @ 20:30, heading down to around 62F for the overnight low.

Multiple attempts to continue digging out that planting hole were met with additional downpours so I finally just gave up. Total precip now stands at 0.64" for the day ... (y)

Did get the dump cart emptied in-between the raindrops though.

Also got the deer netting ordered from Amazon, will be here tomorrow supposedly ... plus got another 4' tall x 20" diameter chicken wire cage for the west peach tree cut, but not woven together.

Emptied most of a 50 lb bag of cracked corn into a 20 gallon garbage can and got that closed up. There was still a little left in the bag, came out later and surprised the groundhog ... who had drug the bag under the Passat and was gorging itself.

Pretty comical as it was having difficultly extricating itself from the bag to escape.

Finally heard from young neighbor, he was sick today (had his truck and equipment/gear stolen the other day when he stopped to get gas), he'll be down tomorrow if he's feeling better.

Trash and recyclables taken up to the cans at the road and set out, mail collected.

Scheduled another bill for payment which came in the mail today.

Stuff put away and garage closed up.

Time for a shower and then kick back and enjoy the evening.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

64°F and clear skies this morning, and got up to 83° today.

Been keeping super busy at work, out in the shop. Not much time in the office at all, so no time to check in here in the mornings lately. Still not caught up either.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.

By the time I post this it'll be Noon (Tuesday), so g'day all. A close to freezing overnight Low of 0.3C, so there was a very light frost this morning. It's clear and calm. There was 3.5mm of rain in the gauge and the current temperature is a lovely 16.0C.

Mostly, I'll hop on the AGFEST website and plan what I want to specifically see and, possibly, purchase. (Oh, yes. Dangerous times lie ahead for my wallet.) After all of the years that I've attended surely there cannot be anything more that I need?

Take care all.

BEF where did you get off parkway?

We took 58 across from Hillsville to meadows of Dan, (gas pump there doesn’t even have credit card capability) then up parkway specifically to see Mabry mill. Then went up to Rt 8 and got off. And headed back over to interstate.

I did a bunch of errands today, getting an early start. Not much else. No rain today, but another 1/8" last night. Tomorrow has a better chance of showers and storms. Then drying out until Friday and Saturday. The low was 51°, only hit 74° for the high, and that was with full sunshine!

Saw all the flooding in the DFW area. Just east of there almost 15" of rain fell... way too much. The weather is just crazy....no rain for extended periods, then all at once.

Probably work on the Jeep tomorrow. At least a little bit.
The rain has exponentially increased the growth rate of the weeds. Time to take the trimmer for a walk again. Need to cut the grass around the house again. The fields are getting tall too.... I still have to try the propane weed burner on the weeds in the driveway. I guess I won't be able to procrastinate too much longer....

Drew, you were busy today for sure! Hope you get some good rest tonight!

65° right now...high in the mid-70's and some rain...calling for about ¼"

Mostly, the side still has some intermittent pain, depending on how I move...

   / Good morning!!!! #154,815
Yesterday I mentioned that we were up to one inch of rain. But when it finally ended yesterday afternoon, I went out and poured about 2.14" out of the gauge. I just could not have asked for a better rain, slow, long lasting, no wind, etc. But at one point before the light rain ended I was sitting here, looked out the window and saw a skunk crossing the backyard to go under my tool storage building. So after the rain ended, I baited my live trap and set it out.

good morning all
looks like a greener morning for most of us.
2.51 inches of rain since yesterday, manageable and very much needed.
Lawn will again leap up. Those Texas numbers are nuts, be careful driving guys.

plumber coming late this morning for simple job. Still pondering hot tubs.
Has anyone had one of these?

the least expensive permanent hot tub started at 7500 bucks. I need to set this up in basement

62 clear but ground fog creeping around while I fed the birds, chipmunks and garden spiders.

Glad you got some rain in Texas, since the hurricane season is quiet. We got another small rain last evening.

BEF, sounds like a fun, but long trip. Glad you got some mountain time. Mabry's is a great spot.

Buppies, you live near the Blue Ridge Parkway, don't you?

I took advantage of yesterday morning's fog to give my wife's vehicle what I told her was a "handcrafted" car wash...I like to wash while the morning dew is still softening the dirt, and yesterday I finished just before the sun got to it. Had to use just my right hand since my left is still cut up from the rose thorns that I drove the zero turn through.

It took until 5pm for the grass to dry enough to mow, so I got about 90 minutes worth of mowing before the dew returned.
