10 1/2 year update? Sure why not! Here are my original points from the 3 1/2year update with updates:
1. Buy heavier implements! Don't scrimp and buy a cheap plow blade. I broke mine
twice three times and
this last time also broke my three point which leads me to...
2. Don't plow in midrange 3rd gear!!! It's too fast and when you hit a frozen rock and the plow decides to stop your tractor which means something must give. Twice the plow gave and the 2nd time so too did the 3 point chain attachment (came off at the welds). --
and now the box blade but I was in mid-range and going slow....don't buy cheap!
3. Grease often (after every day of use I'm told). I've not had a problem but just something I tossed in.
4. If a grease zirt breaks, or should I say WHEN, have some spares on hand. Happened twice to me.
5. Check hydraulic fluid! I had mine
almost empty
once but no damage. after losing a seal and it took out a bearing making the 4wd stop working.
6. There are two drain plugs -- you use them both!
7. Get a funnel to put the oil in, it's too far a reach
and don't try to fill the hydraulic fluid with a 5 gallon bucket or you'll throw out your back! at least with the box blade on!
8. Check water/coolant levels and make sure it's good to your lowest possible temp and then some (no problems there but I have had it get hot a couple times in the summer when mowing).
9. Mow slow. Engage PTO then raise the RPMs -- yes I had to learn that the hard way by breaking sheer pins a couple times.
10. Sheer pins are cheap -- get lots and prepare to change them when brush mowing in the woods!
11. Use Farm Diesel! It's cheaper

I found a source in town (only one) and it's at least 50 cents a gallon less.
12. The lights suck and are useless, get ROPS lights right off, don't wait!
I put on a set of LED's that work awesome.
13. Forks are great! I use them a LOT
14. It's an FEL not a backhoe
I had to replace the battery around the 5 year mark and took off the sides on the engine compartment to keep the rats out after they chewed the wiring. Seems to be working as it is no longer a nice dark safe place for me! Hat TIp to the local shop that gave me the suggestion.
All in all, after over 10 years the tractor is running great and when I get it back I'll be able to move logs to the mill again and haul stuff, plow again etc.
I think a grapple is the next implement I'll get as I'm doing a DNR thinning agreement and hauling slash in the bucket works but a grapple would be a LOT better!
Lastly, I learned this Mahindra (the 5010 back in 2012 when I bought the tractor anyway, was made by TYM. Not sure it matters but must admit I'm impressed.
OH and I broke my chains for the rear tires and need to get new ones that don't fall into the lugs as the roads get pretty icy in the winter and not having chains on the rear can sometimes be a pain and a little scary
