Over the weekend, the shifter on my 3054 decided to stop working. It's stuck in I believe second gear. The shifter does nothing, it's just free floating. It pulls up about 6 inches, and I can see what looks like a bolt that has sheared off. I just ordered a parts manual and service manual, but they won't be in for a week. I started to take off the cast iron plate that's on the side of the tranny, to get a look to see what's the problem, but have run into trouble. I took out all the bolts, but the plate is stuck on there. It looks like there's a sealant holding it on. Does this come off easy or will this take major surgery to fix? Does someone have a scanned copy of the parts blow up of the tranny and shifter area, so I can work on this while mine are being shipped?
edit: I went to the local dealer, which they've only been a dealer about a week, and got a blow up of the area I need. It looks like the main shift cover should come straight off. It must be held on by some sealant from hades. I guess that I'll just have to work on breaking the sealant free. Any words of wisdom?
thanks
