Lied to wife about lost billfold.

I can't count the times that I was sure something was on a shelf where I put it, couldn't find it, and then hours of searching later presto there it was. Darn poltergeists!:)

My wife has walked within striking range of several rattlesnakes more than a few times. Me, on the other hand, I often find myself jumping before I have processed why.

All the best,

Peter

Don't lie, simply say I found my billfold.
That might be the end of it...
if she inevitably asks the next question - Where was it ? Say, you won't believe this but it was in my pocket all along. (embarrassed laugh)
if you lie, TRUST is quickly broken ... and that is a whole other mess.

all the best

Why is it, I can't see the lost item when it is "in front & on top".

If it was a snake it could have bit me.
I believe that it's called "Looking with your eyes closed" and have been told (by women) that it's a guy thing. :D

I lost my good axe about 15 years ago... Don't ask me why I was using it to drive felling wedges. I looked and looked and looked, and even bought a metal detector with no luck. I still go out back occasionally, usually in the spring before things green up. At the time I had a dog who was a klepto had been known to take my axe before; someplace I have a picture of here running up the road with it in here mouth. I don't know if that's what happened to it but it's still out in back of my house... someplace.

That's one advantage of being single, everything stays exactly where I left it.

Agreed but it still sometimes takes me 3 tries to drive off the farm with everything I wanted to take with me.

My house is organized and not cluttered. What’s left of my brain, not so much!

I would have just told her. She probably knows anyway.

Kind of like stores putting items on the end cap shelves. I just can’t seem to see those. Grrr.

When we first bought this house, for the first maybe 6 months we had things mysteriously move, appear, etc. We just blamed it on the ghost of the previous owner (who had died in the house...presumably of old age, she was in her late 80s). After a while it stopped, I guess her spirit moved on or at least accepted that someone else lived here now.
To this day when one of us misplaces something and it turns up either in an odd place, or one where we've already looked we blame it on "the ghost".
