To do and not to do with Kubota DEF system.

Just yesterday I was aerating a 45 acre piece of land I farm for a wealthy customer. They have 2 full time groundskeepers and a decent amount of property maintenance equipment. One piece they have is a 2021 Kubota L6060 with cab & loader they use for light property maintenance.
One of the groundskeepers said he was stuck in regen mode for 20 minutes with it while attempting some basic loader work.
I would like to farm in newer equipment, but I can’t afford any. I purposely steer clear of anything with DEF or DPF, except my main truck. I bought it with an extended warranty because I knew the system would fail, and it did. This summer the DEF tank gauge broke. The truck still ran, but with an annoying check engine light on, for about a month until the parts arrived.

Buying the DEF isn’t the problem, its the added layer of complexity and electronics that IS the problem. It’s prone to failure and at the worst possible time.
When I bought my 2014 F250 6.7L diesel truck in 2018 (used with 125K miles) the DEF heater module went out.
I could pay $800 to fix it or $1800 to get rid of the entire DPF system.
Wasn't a hard decision. After 4 years my truck is running great and no wasteful DEF plastic bottles going to the landfill.

The DEF icon flashes for a while and then becomes solid toward then end of the regeneration cycle. What does this mean?

What is your level? My DEF icon comes on depending on level, 1/2 full on my M5-111 and between 1/4 and 1/2 on my M7-111. When I had a real problem with my M7 DEF, it also began spitting error codes, explained in detail on the large M7 display. If mine had just flashing, then solid DEF light, has always been low DEF. Remember Kubota wants you to keep the DEF level very high to prevent accumulation of ammonia vapor that can damage the sensor electronics in the DEF head.

The only problem the neighbor has with his tier4 equipment is when he hires new help. The new help stops working and pushes buttons when going into regen. He said if they just keep working there is no problem.
That was me the first time that mine went into a regen cycle. It would have been worthwhile to read the manual first...

Don... If you look in your Kubota owners manual or in the WSM if you have it, Kubota will call out every sticker placed on the unit and the location. If not, your local dealer can help you out.

I cannot hear any beeps, they must be at a frequency my hearing aids do not pick up with the tractor running.

The manual does not say what the difference between the flashing and the non flashing regeneration icon is.

I had hoped someone had the same sticker on top of their dash so I could find the missing part, it is not in the online owners manual.

Tough getting old and needing hearing aids. I have them as well but I rarely wear them, that way I can 'selectively ignore' my wife.

Stock Kubota filters, the pass rate is 80 microns
Once again, the filter pass rate is 20 microns, not the 80 microns you once again pulled out of your butt!!! You need to stick with the truth for once.

For the life of me I can't remember the name of that company in Canada. It popped out on an ad somewhere. I'll see if I can find it on the browser history or something.

EDIT: This was the one: TM AG Tuning - Tuning Agricultural, Forestry, and Construction Equipment but also ended up finding this one: Reimer Tuning | Horsepower Tune & Emissions Tuning - Both located in Canada.
Yesterday I did a Kubota SVL75-2. No this machine does not run def. I did not do any deletes on it as I trade every other year. I was short on power. I have TY fro TM Ag tuning do the tune. Ty does a ton of these. He was the most helpful and knowledgeable. This machine uses the same motor as a 7060 so he know pretty close to the power it is going to make. Big diff. from stock and all in tact. He can do deletes also. Worthy of a message or a phone call.

Just keep in mind that once you modify or delete the emissions hardware, you own it for all time. No dealer will take it on trade, you might sell it privately however.

It’s normal to get a higher price if selling privately versus to a dealer, but I wonder how much more, or less, a deleted Tier IV will bring on the market?
The market isn’t totally visible, since one might not advertise this when selling, so there’s likely no good data.
Anyone know a friend with personal experience?
Comparing two identical tractors, but one has been deleted, I know which one I’d want. (Well, that may vary depending on how well the owner did the delete.)
