I guess they aren't concerned about the store getting rid of their oldest produce for their order. I always thought it was a good way for the store to get rid of their older merchandise.

Yeah, I've avoided online shopping for that reason...not just produce (I am kind of picky about it), but other perishables as well. Get the sandwich meat sliced the way I like it at the deli (they usually slice it waaay too thick for me). I like to check the markdown section too.

While I'm glad some stores offer that service should I ever need it, I hope that day never comes.

When I worked a shift that I'd get off at 3:30am, I'd head to the store for groceries. Have the store to myself except for the guy on the floor cleaning machine.

I get up early (3am or so) and would go to the grocery store early when it was nice and quiet to stock up on stuff.

That all changed with Covid though, as the 24 hour stores started closing around 10 pm, and then not re-opening until 6 am. They are still like that today.

Yeah they are. However, I'm not on that shift anymore, and back to non-vampire hours.

But once in a while, I have the urge to hit a Walmart or Meijer late at night and can no longer do that.

They are pretty nice. Think clean Walmart with better organization and isles you can walk through with a cart. Great produce section.

Also, if you're ever in Grand Rapids, MI, they have an incredible sculpture garden. World renown.
