Go back 30 years and Sears had the best paint ! I used to like Behr, but as Eddie has said it is not so good anymore. I use Lowes Valspar Signature satin for walls and ceilings. I don't like matte finishes.

For my kitchen cabinets and wood trim i use Benjamin Moore Advance in satin and semi gloss. It is self leveling, found it to be the best i have used. Works well whether you spray ,roll or brush.

Outside on fiber cement board i use Sherwin Williams Weathershield. It formulated for that material. which gives you a hard smooth finish that will not crack or peel.

What i use is not cheap but but it is so worth it in the long run !

Just my 2 cents which is only worth 1 cent !!!

This has nothing to do with the home build. But we got paperwork from financing company acknowledging that we paid off our Kioti Tractor.
7 years. One less regular payment.
That's always a nice feeling! Good job.

It is a good milestone. I remember buying that
Tractor. Test drives of four different brands and eight or nine different tractors. I knew nothing about tractors or machinery. I had just bought my land and hadn’t cut a tree yet.Thats how I found TBN. It was very much the beginning of my Journey. Kind of like buying my wagon and horses to go west. I don’t take much tome to ponder, but I’m doing it now.
The tapers have been in there every day for the last five. I am heading up today to work on more siding. I had taken vacation days last week and Monday but there was an emergency at work and I had to cancel. I have scaffolding set up that I am paying for wether I use it or not so I’d like to get this knocked out and actually have the whole house clad. I wont get to the battens but at least the walls will finally be covered.

Getting ready to go pick out paint. White paint but of course there are lots of choices in white paint.
My question is how much? And do Inuse a “ceiling” paint. I am guessing thatbwould be cheaper because you dont get much wear and tear on the ceiling.

White is the hardest color to match. The variables are endless.

Once you prime your sheetrock, you'll use about half that amount in paint. If you don't prime, you'll use three times as much paint. Zinsser 123 will give you a shell like finish on the bare sheetrock that allows the paint to coat quickly and evenly.

You can return primer without a penalty if you don't open it. Don't be shy about buying extra. It's easier to return after your done then to get more during the middle of the project.

An average bedroom will take two gallons of paint for walls and ceiling when painting over existing paint, or primer.

When you're done for the day, wrap your roller and brushes in plastic sacks. I safe Lowes and Home Depot sacks for this. Make it air tight and you can use the brush and roller again the next day. I've gone a full month doing this!!!

I like the glidden pva primer. Once it’s on you use way less paint. I use white ceiling paint only for ceilings. Walls are an eggshell white.

I ami have some non-shower areas in the bathroom that will be tiled. Should I paint them or leave them unpainted and just tile them?

Prime at the very minimum. Paint or not, does not matter much. If it is easier to do it all, do it.
