Any One Else Eat Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth?

...

The Soylent in my link tastes good and is good for you.
That may very well be true. It's just that they could have picked a band name that wasn't associated with an ecological dystopian thriller.

On a coincidence note, well, I'll start another thread on that. Probably for the best. ;)

Well, after thinking about it for a few more minutes, I decided probably best not to start that thread either, as I'd have to have it moved to the front porch shortly. :p

Just google the movie and read the description and plot on wikipedia. Pretty timely.

I just read this whole thread, and what I have seen;

1. There is no conclusive proof that DE has any benifits to hair, nails, or much else that people claim

2. Most (if not all) of the 'evidence' given is not scientifically valid

3. It is known to kill microbes and some parasites, good, bad, or indifferent, it does not have a way to discriminate

4. It is non digestible so a very large percent of it just passes through your system

What I think;

1. This is little more than another mostly benign substance that does little good or harm in most cases

2. Without before and after tests the statements made mean nothing

3. People are always looking for a miracle, this leads to things like MMS, (Miracle Mineral Solution), which is little more than industrial strength chlorine, and god-awful concoctions of things like slippery elm bark and fever flu as a sure fire cancer cure.

If you think it works for you then fine, it probably does, a little.

Here is my hair proof (pandemic when I was not going to the barber shop):

I know it strengthened my finger nails because when I stopped taking it, my nails split and broke again. After I resumed taking it my nails quit breaking and splitting.
2. Most (if not all) of the 'evidence' given is not scientifically valid
But it happened.

How about this: Diatomaceous earth lowers blood cholesterol concentrations - PubMed
If you think it works for you then fine, it probably does, a little.
It did work for me, a lot. (y)

I could tell that for sure when I quit using it and after a while started using it again

Tell ya what ! How about you tell your spouse to have the results of your autopsy published in a few years , have them look specifically at long term effect of extra fine silica in your organs .....until then I and other less gullible people will pass on the ant and roach killer powder. .....I have seen first hand the long term effect of digesting and breathing silica dust in hard rock underground miners in my home town where hundreds , over the 4 decades the mines operated, died of silicosis type complications.

<<sighs>>

There is no convincing those who are like this.
I have had these argument with people who belive such miraculous cures, you cannot disprove believe. I mean if you believe in VooDoo a chicken bone cross will remove the curse on your flyrod so you will catch a salmon.

I have never read that it would adversely affect human organs.

I don't digest or breathe the dust.

What am I supposed to learn from this picture? Were you bald before you started eating it?
Hair was thinning out as I got older. You could see my scalp on the top middle of my head.
