I have ordered a lever action 38/357 20 in barrel might be a couple of months
What brand?

I have an old Marlin 1894 (no, not for sale) in .357/.38SPL. This one has the 16 (or 18) inch barrel
I like to pull it out once or twice a year...mostly shoot .38's through it now although I'm sure it can handle .357 Mags

Happy Sunday!

God has been good enough to let us have another day to try and get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

we picked up four new pullets to add to our little flick, bringing the total to nine. we Put the new hens in the covered run last Evening while the old hens were in the coop, and this morning they are now “introducing” themselves, with the usual barnyard behavior. Because the numbers are so close, 5v4, it hasn’t been too horrid, but the top hen has been quite vocal about wanting to speak to management about the new situation. . .

our dog, who was no longer interested in interacting with the birds afyer getting pecked in the nose a couple months ago, was a bit nonplussed when she saw the cage in the back of the pickup, and did the whole hug-and-hold-on thing, almost asking “WHYYYYYYYY???????”

it is a bit too wet to go up to the woodlot after church and actually work, but it is very good that we are getting rain after our extended dry spell. Of course, now I cannot shred leaves, but Plan B is to take an extended ride to ”knowhere” and visit some parts of the county we have never been to before, kill a couple hours, burn some dinosaur juice, have a change of scenery.

may your day be blessed and as positive as it can possibly be!

I really wish someone would make a PUMP in .38/.357. . .

Good morning! 47˚F heading to the mid 80s, partly cloudy.

Yesterday was a perfect tractor day, cool but not cold, no dust, little mud, average crowds, left no one behind with one tractor working.

The Ranger's auto lock/unlock touch door handles started working again without a new battery. Still trying to figure this out. I'm figuring just a small voltage change in the original battery will not meet the programed threshold and they automatically go into limp mode to save the battery. The auto stop/start is still in limp mode and not working. Battery voltage after it started working is 12.13v. I'll check the voltage again if it stops working to see if my hypothesis is correct.

edit - locks still work this morning at 11.99v

L4n weather station - Tempest. No moving parts to malfunction. Popgadget I also noticed the rain gauge is getting more accurate and is matching the COCORAHS (.01") rain gauge that I have mounted on the same pole. The App with all the functions including history and the lighting distance are really nice.

Good Morning.
It’s 68 and looking like rain, with a high in the low 70’s. Supposed to clear up later in the day.

Yesterday was a nice day, in the 70’s even in New Hampshire. Trip went well, but took up pretty much the whole day.

Not sure what I will get into today, neighbor is doing some electrical work, and would like me to come by and supervise along the way. Son changed his oil in the shop yesterday while I was gone, and couldn’t get his oil filter off, he is coming by again today, I’ll help with that. My guess is that he used the wrong filter wrench, but I don’t know yet. Other than those things, not sure what else I’ve got on tap.

Good morning to all! Low of 35°, going up to 62°. Sunny, breezes at 10-15 mph. Should be a nice day!

Don, thanks for posting the tornado video..... I know you Texas guys want to stop the influx of people moving in..... that is definitely a good deterrent!
My question: have anyone here that have lived all their life in Texas ever had a really, really close call with a tornado?

BEF, hope you sealed the leak. It's amazing how just a tiny hole will allow so much water to leak through.

Phil, neat woodworking project. I have always been amazed at guys making pens. I have never gotten into wood 'turning'. You have an amazing skill!
Hope you are able to fix the saw..... puzzling to say the least....

Drew, I grew up with listening to a "grandfather clock" chiming every hour.... it was one that chimed the hour with the appropriate amount of 'dings'. I actually liked it. We have an antique mantle clock, doesn't work, but it is interesting. We have always talked about getting it repaired, but no actual clock makers out here. About 40 years ago, some guy offered $5K for it.... I'm thinking that I should have taken it an ran.....

Thomas, take it easy with the leaf wrangling.... don't want to cause any issues...

Ron, beautiful sunrise!

Ken, how can you resist those eyes...... a snack was definitely deserved.....

Not sure of today's agenda, need to go pic up a prescription for sure. I normally got notifications for refills when they are due, but not this time.... only had 2 pills left for the week.... no notice at all.

The daughter and family will be heading down from Colorado, headed to Giddings Tx. for the week. She is dropping my MIL off here to stay. Should be an interesting week at this homestead......

It will be a busy week.... Tomorrow, the fiber internet guys are coming for the install, then the rest of the week: Max goes to the vet to get his teeth cleaned, the wifey and I both have eye Dr. appointments, then I have a cardiologist appointment.

Everyone have a great day!

68°F and .02 inches rain

Dried out enough I got a few hours seat time, enough to finish this round of mowing.

I know many of you are chomping at the bit. Anxiously awaiting that 1st snow so you can get out and plow, blow, shovel. I’ll just start mowing again.

Nice dinner out with friends

Plan is to watch some football today, not much else.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

On the trees on our side of the property line the plan is to fill in with firewood 6ft high and cover with a tarp. That way it gives privacy at least until using the firewood and it dries out the wood being nice and dry. Looks like for a 100 ft stretch it should be possible with perhaps a few poles in between and treated wood on the bottom. See video for idea

Good afternoon, the lights just came back on after going out at 23:55 last night.
Low temp was 53 and the high to 54°F. Wind SW 14 mph. Mainly sunny.

I have a 'Boston' porthole clock which if I am not mistaken is made by Chelsea. It is right twice a day.
I also have a genuine Chelsea Ships Bell clock (it strikes the watches) , circa 1924, that according to the family legend came off the Kaiser Wilhelms yacht before it was sunk off Florida to make an artificial reef. It is right twice a day, also.

The last time I remember it being this warm in November, we were playing football on Christmas Day and by Feb. 1 were doing snow removal in Toronto, Ontario 1981 I think it was. We WILL pay for this fantastic weather. Mark my words.

Thanks all for the weather station suggestions. I will check on amazon.ca

Have a safe day all
