Hasn’t worked in years. I suspect all gummed up inside from my Dad’s heavy smoking. Another of the projects on the “slim chance I’ll get to it list”.

55F and clear @ 20:30, heading down to around 48F in the overnight for the low. High hit 71.2F here today with mixed sun and clouds.

Got insurance bill scheduled for payment first thing this morning.

Otherwise a change of pace for today:

Took box blade off and stuck on PHD on the Kubota with the 2' auger and got four planting holes drilled.

Tulip, Red Maple, and the Japanese Flowering Cherry "Kwanzan" trees all planted and well watered in, also one of the (two) Dwarf Burning Bushes. Will do the other one tomorrow probably after going in for my flu shot.

Stuck three t-posts in around two of the trees, which will hopefully keep the deer off of them until we can get them properly protected tomorrow.

Noticed while putting on the PHD hopper feeder was already empty again. So will need to refill that tomorrow as well.

When I went up to get the second bucketload of screened compost these two were up there:

Think that might be a different buck, his rack looked bigger. Maybe a 10 point ?

He let me get to within about 20' of him before he turned around and headed for the neighbor's woods.

He didn't go too far though ... seemed pretty reluctant to leave his doe behind:

She headed in the opposite direction and I hadn't even made it back over to the shop and he was hot on her trail heading after her:

Love is in the air ...

Need to run over and shut things down in the barn.

Then see what I can scrounge up for desert ... probably some Entenmann's Cheese Danish.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday ... (y)
Love in the air or is it lust.

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. light to moderate wind, partly cloudy sky, and high temp was 77ºF. Chapel to start the day, made pancakes for breakfast. Updated clock time and delivered meals in morning. After lunch energy conservation and nap in afternoon. Dinner at stepdaughter's house. Today was wife's birthday.
Randy(wag) glad church went well. There is an Anglican church that fits much the same description in town. Tornadoes were not close, no were the winds bad, not a lot of branches down. Enjoy the parade commander post.
RS nice progress on barn, neat pics

Don good to hear yesterday was nice for work. 12.13v sounds low, full charge on lead-acid battery is 12.7. Auto0start-stop is not working, not much of issue as still getting 23+mpg. Friend was having trouble with Dodge truck, replaced battery and all is well.
Paul glad tip to NH went well. Hope today gets the electrical and oil filter sorted out.
Ken hope you can get wood boiler figured out. Poor puppy looks like he is hungry ;)
Ted been closer to tornado in Missouri than here, KS and OK get their share as well. Two close encounters 1st was rain shrouded, not sure how close but was close. #2 was within 2 miles at church, was able to find track of tornado to establish distance. Good luck with MIL during her stay.

Another beautiful sunny day in the 70's here!!
Happy Birthday Mrs. Mostly.
Just a quick check in to show the progress on the lathe as requested. Starts with first project on top then on to the bottom. The three pens are from wood used at or cut down around the house.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Afternoon- currently 82°

This weekend my ECHO backpack blower decided it didn't want to start anymore.. could smell gas and took off filter gas was running into it..No leaf blowing just about kills me, I'm a little OCD about the leaves..Stopped by this morning to drop it off and a young man looked at real quick and said will need to replace carb.might be expensive..I said fix it I can't buy another like it anywhere..All new blowers can't push the air this one can...Too well built and this is first time I've had any trouble in 6 years.. Will be interested to see what it does cost.. Will still be cheaper than a new one..

Have a good day

Mark

Good evening! 80˚F, .56" rain today, muggy. Changing of the Ranger's battery fixed all electrical anomalies, yea.

Now the Tempest original battery is showing power saver mode at 2.35v out of 3.6v. In power saver mode it does not record rain or wind. Now I have to figure out how to order/replace that battery.

got dark right after 5pm today.
if you have to drive in the dark
the next week is the highest week for car crashes involving deer.
Has something to do with time change.
so for next week be extra careful driving at night.

driveway scraper worked well. Gravely zt had big motor, plenty of traction

leaves leaves and more leaves
sucked them all up this morning, front lawn covered already.
I'll miss the pretty leaves on tree in front; burgundy and yellow leaves fluttered down on my head while
mowing in that area

willow tree on neighbor's front lawn very pretty turning from green to gold.

gave the new 9ah Makita clone battery a good test today.
It ran and ran and ran. I ran out before it did. Very impressed.
As has been my experience with the other clone batteries, you have to run them through
the charge cycle twice. But only slightly warm after hard use, and slightly warm after charge.
Big battery but worked well with leaf blower which is high draw

My parents had it, Mom still does. My dad used his for 2 months and my Mom wants to stay in her house so for them it was/is a waste. The nursing home has to fill out the request for reimbursement for you because of the information required. They bought it many years ago and the coverage was sufficient at that time at $25 a day. They did not get the inflation adjustment. Once you start using it the premiums are waived, how nice. If you want to stay in your home it does not pay for nursing help.

However another VFD friend bought the same insurance with the inflation clause and his mother stayed in a facility for 5 years and it paid off for them.

So the answer is - It depends if you get the inflation clause and you are willing to leave your house.

Thanks Don. This one qualifies for care in your home, if a non family member is caring for you. Overall, I’m thinking if I put the premium money into a separate account, maybe I can self insure.

Bought this one there in late 90s. Worked well until wife pulled a chain the wrong way. It does keep time. Got chains up to keep away from cats.

Good early (Tuesday) arvo. A mild overnight Low of 10C and it's presently 29.7C! Calm, clear and no rain.

I was on earlier but got a call to help a 'lady in distress' at the Church. She needed a mattress, and a lift, from our Anglicare "previously loved" charity shed. That was immediately accomplished and, seeing as I was dressed and 'in town' I stopped by our local hardware store (Mitre 10) as my air compressor was giving me grief... to the point where the last time I tried to use it it kept tripping the power-board.

The Good Lord was once again looking out for me as I purchased the only 40ltr compressor that they had in stock for only A$199! So I'll assemble it later on.

That's about it, take care all and have fun my USA Mates with your elections.
