Bobcat Toolcat 5610G, Deere X744, Cub Cadet IH 982
It looks like it is similar to this seal replacement video and I think it would be tough to do it without the tool. The seal must push in hard because it is a press fit in the block and on the crank and it must be installed straight.
You can partially install it using the flywheel. Then you know it goes on straight. You'll have to tap it the rest of the way in though. If you're careful you can get it in there without getting it cockeyed.
Alternatively if you have access to a lathe you can make your own
I bought the rear crank seal from JD. They say this seal requires the special tool for installation or it will leak.I found one online for 133 dollars, guess I'll have to get it . Don't want to split it again and waist a good seal.
Can anybody help me out on a part # for this tool. JD 2240 Rear crank seal installer. I ordered one for DZ111672 seal but the pilot piece won't lineup with crank.
