Buying Advice on Hydraulic links

I'm going to agree on 3 remotes if it is an option... @ovrszd & @MtnViewRanch (& others) have pointed out good reasons for them... Our NH TC40D had one rear remote when we purchased it used... I added 2 additional rear remotes & a front mounted diverter valve & now would not want to be without. Front diverter valve operates the grapple or the tree / post puller, two remotes dedicated to the TnT purchased from Brian @ Fit Rite (MtnViewRanch) & the third is used with the wood chipper, the back blade or the snow blower... I do think I need to add check valves to the top & tilt cylinder as they seem to not stay under load (but not sure the correct way to do it yet)... however I like being able to leave the TnT connected & still having the 3rd remote available for implements...

Do the following test. This will tell you for sure if it is the cylinders or the valves.

If it is the cylinders, they are under warranty.
If it is the valves, there are solutions for that also.

My IH 574 has two remotes, my Branson 8050 has 3, and the NH 8160 has 4. Both of the IH and all 4 of the NH have float,
none of the Branson do which tends to irk me quite often as many implements have single acting cylinders to allow ground following which doesn't work good without float.
I use a hydraulic top link and some of my implement have two or more cylinders on them plus I have a set of hoes on the Branson that run up to the loader from the rear remotes.

Unless you’re ok cutting, flaring and potentially bending some stainless hard line you’d have to remote mount it with a 2nd set of hoses.

I once bought one on amazon or ebay for $50 new because the seller didnt really know what it was..

I admit i also do not know how to easily source banjo fittings… never once bought one, as many times as ive disconnected and reconnected them. Banjos arent the only way to do it, just the ‘nicest’.

Great addition to any tractor. Next you're gonna be wanting a tilt cylinder. Makes hookups using a Quick Hitch much easier. We'll need pics of course.

Brian, here's some pics I took. Of course I'm hydraulic fitting ignorant. I don't recall the size or type of cylinder ports. If you can't figure it out by the pics I'll do some more research. I probably have the receipt for the cylinders. I bought them from Supply House and then modified them to fit my application. Thanks in advance for your efforts. I really appreciate it.

One thing at a time. The top cylinder should help a bit with attachments, especially since they all reside in an enclosed barn on level concrete. I bought the Harbor Frelight Quick Hitch and aftermarket top hook as recommended. $149 total

Totally understand.

For my application on the Kubota I use the tilt cylinder more than the top cylinder. My most used attachment is a Box Blade. Allows me to cut slope.

The Ford just has a top cylinder. It's most common use is with a rear blade. The blade has a tilt cylinder.

My junk gets parked on a gravel floor or on dirt. The TnT makes rehitching a breeze.

I installed that kind of link to offset my rear blade, replacing the telescoping link on the blade. I like it. It’s simple, works fine, and only cost $100. Typically when I offset the blade, I use it like that until the job is complete, then it’s no problem adjusting the blade back to the standard position. Sometimes going full hydraulic isn’t worth it unless you’re going to be constantly changing the setting.

I have a rope tied to the latch end and I can adjust the length from the seat till it will set right on and latch in.
Not cheap by any definition but very handy.

I suppose these are technically parts, but they attach to the tractor, so apologies if this is poorly placed.

I am about to pull the trigger on a T494H (maybe a 4820H or T574H). I want to get a hydraulic top and side link. My primary use will be box blade work on driveway (200-300 ft) and paths. I have some questions for those who have been down this road before me.

1) Have dealer install it or aftermarket?
2) Options/features to look for?
3) Min-Max lengths?
4) Manufacturers with good reputation?

Installation seems pretty straightforward, but somethings are better in experts' hands.

One day (free) ship from AgriSupply. Very well packaged, and I’ll get it installed ASAP.

That's where I'm getting down to brass tacks.

The T494 comes standard with 2 sets. The 4820 says you can have up to 4 sets (optional). I reckon you can add more to the T494, too. I'm also not sure what type are 'standard'. I'd rather get what I need at purchase time as none of them are close by.

The two models are similar, but each has pros and cons. Same dealers either way.

Torvy, If they are available as an option I'd sure get them! I have 3 on mine and haven't "yet" used the third set but if I ever need it I know it's already there and available. Any piece of equipment that uses a set of remotes I can use. Provides equipment buying options. Buy once, cry once. I kind of wish I'd have gotten 4. Best of luck in your decision. Greg
