New rules for ethanol in gasoline

That's been a subject of discussion in northern Nevada for a couple months. All of our gasoline comes from one refinery in northern California. Gasoline suppliers have stated they will offer one or the other; if E15 is what the government recommends then all the pumps will go to E15. They will not have pumps at a station that offer regular in either E10 or E15.

Well - I guess I won't be driving the Taco Wagon back to Nebraska to visit relatives. Highlighted section under fuel in Owners Manual - "Use no fuel with greater than 10% alcohol". I wonder what folks with other than E-85 vehicles, that live in those states, are expected to do.

You know - it time for "us" to put a halt to all this government mandated crap. There must be a very good reason ( political ) that this has not been mandated in California.

No one is forcing anyone to use E15. E10 will still be available in those places.

You should know how things work by now... Nothing switch from A to Z in a day, that would provoke outrage and revolt. It's always gradually sneak in one step at a time, it begins as a choice then that choice get harder and harder to get, then it ether get force or sneak in the back door when nobody is looking... first thing you notice its been replace and enforce.

Where in the articles does it ever say that E10 will not be offered?

Moss - then the question is....... Why is anybody wasting their time in the producing of E-85 fuel. So very many of vehicles on the road today can not use this fuel.

I firmly believe that Rockbadchild has hit the nail - squarely on the head.

Because nothing in the rule change is changing anything but the availability of E15 in winter. With this rule change, people are getting more choices, not less.

Is more bad choice is it really more ?

We have E0 in 87 and 91 octane, E10 87-93 octane, , E15, and E85. I normally don't buy E15 so this rule change doesn't affect me. But, if I did, I would be able to buy it year round with the rule change.

Both of our's can though we have never used it. Not many filling stations here have it anyway (locally).
