I did get a good glimpse into the problems management was having with some individuals, who were employed solely because of preferential treatment and were quick to manipulate the system.
Those @#$& military veterans and their preferences are nothing but trouble!!!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

currently 42F, going to low 60’s, possible precip later, though if pattern holds most (if not all) will pass south of us.

Up too early, about 45 minutes ago woke up with today’s ear worm: The Beatles’ Heavy, but it is the instrumental version by Booker T and the MGs. I have a wild jukebox in my head. . .

We got the other two strands of barbed wire up, and neither of us drew blood, so that was pretty cool. There are a couple spots that need some additional short pieces due to terrain, and I have to do a short 90° leg about 30’ long, and then the withies need to be inserted. I also need to do some bracing at the corner post to keep everything tight.

got an ISS pass notification but it will be too low -but in about 80 minutes the next pass should be decent, based on the current position (It just passed over Montauk heading SE-ish) As long as no clouds decide to move in. .
.

I saw my first carpenter bee out yesterday - time to mix up a fresh batch of juice and start spraying the house again. Yay.

I hope everyone has a healthy happy safe blessed day!

Coffee is brewing. 27° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with mostly cloudy skies. Did not remove hot tub. Neighbor had something else that needed to be done. I decided to clean out my old rolltop desk. That took most of the morning. In afternoon got neighbors tractor out with pallet forks and moved desk to garage. It is heavy. Looked on FB marketplace to see what it is may be worth. Not much. Lots of rolltop desk selling for $100 to $200 with no buyers. May just donate. Grocery shopping this morning. Then cleanup front porch where desk sat for over 30 years.

Good Morning All.

34 outside this AM. Heading to upper 50's. No rain expected, but another storm front is closing in.

Managed to recover a few nice loads of firewood from the back 40 yesterday. Used up a chain in the process. Used up the back too. Did not managed to get it any of it split. Need to do that today. Most all trees were all leaners so the wood is fireplace ready. A particular area back there lost a lot of trees a while back. Downburst of wind must have got them as they all went in the same direction. Either that or an alien mothership attempted a landing.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe, stay or get healthy.

Have you thought of making pipe chanters out of them?
had to look that up...

good morning all
30 going up to about 50 today in sun, nice day, rain coming back tomorrow.

Riptides, nothing better than a nice leaner. That firewood should smell really nice when you burn it. Cedar?

One nice cedar, two oak pieces...tree is too big, need to take splitter down to it, and a lot of poplar. A good mix to get fires going before the last of the walnut and oak get thrown in.

Still have one poplar hanging on trail, going out in a few to see if the back can handle it. Muscles are not cooperating on one side.

Good morning! 57˚F but the cool front has fizzled and the winds have shifted back from the South. It will be in the 80s today.

Working in rock garden replacing 2 dead hedges with 12 new ones and 2 raised beds. Hand PHD and pry bar are slow work. Need a trip to HD for yard fertilizer and good soil for the raised beds.

What type of hedges are you planting?

Yesterday went by in a hurry. Did manage to get finish on two out of three speaker cabinets, as well as assemble two crossovers, one of the cabs doesn’t use a crossover, it runs the drivers full range.

The big project of the day was the drainage. I had some hired help, which made it go much faster than I expected, it was too wet to use a machine so it was all hand work, we removed a 12” steel pipe and installed a twenty foot 12” diameter PVC pipe. Corrugated exterior, smooth inside. This swale takes water through a concrete pipe under the driveway and gets it to the pond, the new pipe crosses a lane used primarily for equipment and pedestrian traffic. Once it dries up a bit, I’ll have to get a couple of buckets full of dirt to finish covering and grading, then seed it. But I had to take advantage of the help while it was too wet for much else.

Lunch break, pizza from one of the ovens I maintain, they wanted chicken, bacon and ranch dressing on it. Didn’t appeal to me, but they loved it.

Last chore of the day was the heat pump in the shop. It was iced up again, the defrost control coil temp sensor was reading about 60 degrees high, so it would call for defrost. When I looked at it last week, I assumed that my choice of programming was too aggressive, and that’s why it iced up. I looked into it a bit deeper this time and found the actual problem. I’ll get the parts today and get it taken care of. In the meantime, it’s on propane heat downstairs, and the new mini split upstairs, which contributes greatly to the downstairs heat as well.

Back in the shop today, working on the speakers until I get the parts for the heat pump.
