Good Morning
Bright and chilly out this morning.
Yesterday went by in a hurry. Did manage to get finish on two out of three speaker cabinets, as well as assemble two crossovers, one of the cabs doesn’t use a crossover, it runs the drivers full range.
The big project of the day was the drainage. I had some hired help, which made it go much faster than I expected, it was too wet to use a machine so it was all hand work, we removed a 12” steel pipe and installed a twenty foot 12” diameter PVC pipe. Corrugated exterior, smooth inside. This swale takes water through a concrete pipe under the driveway and gets it to the pond, the new pipe crosses a lane used primarily for equipment and pedestrian traffic. Once it dries up a bit, I’ll have to get a couple of buckets full of dirt to finish covering and grading, then seed it. But I had to take advantage of the help while it was too wet for much else.
Lunch break, pizza from one of the ovens I maintain, they wanted chicken, bacon and ranch dressing on it. Didn’t appeal to me, but they loved it.
Last chore of the day was the heat pump in the shop. It was iced up again, the defrost control coil temp sensor was reading about 60 degrees high, so it would call for defrost. When I looked at it last week, I assumed that my choice of programming was too aggressive, and that’s why it iced up. I looked into it a bit deeper this time and found the actual problem. I’ll get the parts today and get it taken care of. In the meantime, it’s on propane heat downstairs, and the new mini split upstairs, which contributes greatly to the downstairs heat as well.
Back in the shop today, working on the speakers until I get the parts for the heat pump.
