IH Engine identification 3040912R2

Can anyone tell me what motor this is?
It's in an IH B275. Casting number is 3040912R2
I googled it and it came up as a BC-144 but when I look for BC-144 nothing comes up. I'm thinking someone made a typo and it's actually a BD-144
I really need to verify what motor it is.

Any help is always greatly appreciated.

Sorry, It should have been B275. But still I think it's the same. I dont know if there is such a thing as a BC-144. I really need to confirm weather its bc or bd though.

BC-144 is a gas engine. BD-144A is a diesel. I have a BC-144 in my IH3414, which is the industrial (backhoe model) version. My book says a B-275 tractor has a BD-144A in it. 32.3 horsepower.....Dan.

That's the confirmation I was looking for. This one's a diesel so it has to be the BD-144

In the end it turned out to be a BD154 The 154 is pretty much the same but it has 3-1/2" pistons while the 144 has 3-3/8 pistons although when ordering aftermarket parts you can get liners for the 144 that are 3.5 bore.
And the 154 has double valve springs while the 144 has normal single valve springs. This one has the double valve springs so I'm guessing its the 154
