When I got the 2016 camry they told me towing a trailer would void the warranty. I wonder if that is because it was a hybrid or if the new ones are just better?
Did it have a CV transmission?

54 outside this AM, that should be it for the high today. Rain moved through last night. As usual for our corner of the globe, predicted thunderstorms that get the news people all in a tissy fit, split up and went right to the north and south of us.

Managed to get the mowers out for the second time this year. Since it was plus 80 degrees, was doing it in a tee-shirt. That's a first for the year. Today is the weedwhacker walk of shame. I really should spray the fence lines but I am too lazy and chemicals....errr....

Hope all have a great day today, enjoy the weekend.

Enjoy Easter.

Good morning, the low temp was 10 it is now 20 and going to a high of 35°F. Wind W 15 gusting to 30 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

My gravel supplier is on holidays, but when he gets back I will see what he wants for a couple of loads of pit run (pit run gravel is dug straight out of the bank and put on the truck, zero refinements) and a load of 1" clear stone. The stone will need to be tailgate spread. He may want more money for that.

I've still got 20" of snow on the front lawn, so it'll be a while before I need to cut it.

Income tax paid out yesterday, exactly what the accountant said.

Have a safe day all

I remember back in the '70's when the bicycle mfg went to China. They said a Chinese lady could lace and true a bicycle rim in 8-12 minutes.

Gas went from $2.79 to $3.19 overnight here. I would post facts about why, but I don't want my post deleted.

I'm peeping that gravel. I need some and am worried about the cost per load.

I was very young, maybe 5 or 6, but I remember having a pair of white PF flyers, and I confess, I went outside to see how high I could jump! I know all of you did it too! Fess up!

4.19" of rain here in the last day and a half. That equals roughly what has fallen since Jan 1.

MIL had a very large post oak fall over with the wet ground and some blustery winds. It snagged some phone lines and internet lines on the way down, which kept it from totally smashing her SUV. It did dent the roof in about 3" in the middle. Her nephew was already chain sawing when I got back with my saws. Just as I was starting my saw, he cut a branch that fell and smashed her rear window. He was about to cut another branch that was holding onto the phone lines. I told him wait! We ended up clearing enough to allow her to drive out from under it. My son and wife were steady at it pulling branches off to the side. Nephew brought 2 Stihl chainsaws with him, but both had dull chains. I pulled out my old John Deere (Efco) CS 40, and the chain was sharp, it was going through the branches like butter. I could make about 6 cuts to his one. He finally put his down and helped clear branches for me. We still have a trunk about 30-36" in diameter by about 15 feet long to get rid of. It has some beautiful 2 tone wood, but not sure if post oak is good for anything other than bbq.

Drew question, If your tree falls on your vehicle, while the vehicle is parked on the public street, would it be home owners or auto insurance to cover it?

Special week for some of us. Prayers for our team.

33F and clear @ 06:00, only heading up to around 51F for the high which is almost 10F lower than normal for this time of year.

Big stretch of nice weather coming up in the Ten Day: gradually warming temps, with three days in the 80's (way above average) ... and no precip predicted until late on the tenth day. That should really dry things up here.

Grass is already showing signs that it's about to take off growing, that will pop it for sure. Will need to figure out what going on with the Cub.

Hit the rack around 17:00 yesterday, slept until after midnight when I got up for a whizz then back to bed, woke up around 04:40 ... good rest ... (y)

Contacted accountant about appointment for tax return prep, figured he was slammed ... got email back within a couple of minutes that he had already e-filed for an extension ... (y)

Got saw parts ordered from Renovo: arbor flange, the four bronze bullets for the tilt/blade height wheels, and (hopefully) the correct arbor wrench for the saw.

Probably throw some clothes on here in a few and head up to the shop and get a fire going and warm things up. Need to remember to take VFD up when I go.

Sure hopper feeder needs filled at this point. Need to unload bag of deer corn from car, probably fill deer feeder while I'm at it.

Take battery charger over to the barn later today and get it hooked up on the Cub.

Now that the saw base has been painted I need to finish up the prep work on the motor so I can throw a coat of paint on that.

May start the reassembly process too.

Still trying to locate the original sub panel up in the shop that I replaced a few years ago. Will repurpose that as a sub panel in the garage.

Hope everyone has a Good Friday ... ;)

rs, if you don't much like the stink of fish cooking cut an orange in half across the segments and put half in a small saucepan about half covered in water cut side down and set that on low heat on a back burner of the stove. I found out about that a few years ago when a Newfie was cooking cod (I hate the smell of cod fish cooking). It works!

Passed that along to The Woman.

Personally, the smell of fish don't bother me ... unless it's rotting and stinking to high heaven. And I have smelled plenty of that.

Different story with The Woman: Her Mother never fixed fish for dinner apparently and as a consequence She doesn't like anything about it.

Oddly enough, She likes shrimp and tuna fish ... go figure.

Me, I could eat fish seven days a week ...

TGIF. 49º going up near 80º today and 85ish this weekend...Tax prep crunch weekend. Ugh. Will be good to put this behind us...
The 2016 Ford Diesel required a retune or detune, whatever you call it, from the EPA before registration renewal next month. Fricking sensors won't reset for the smog test. They keep telling me to drive it more. Which I did - no luck so far. Went back to Ford. They said drive this sequence of 0-50 and 0-70 and then drive 40 plus minutes at 60 mph... just what I want to do, drive around and waste a bunch of time and fuel spewing emissions so the truck can test safe for the environment.

good morning all
55 going up to 58 in heavy clouds today, no rain as forecast

really nice to see my tulips come up. So far no deer smorgasbord.
radishes all planted, lettuce doing well, and my four new tomatoes might not like tonight's 34 degrees.

landscapers coming this morning, but thinking it was yesterday....did all my needed bed weeding yesterday.
New outfit, will need to show them where all the almost hidden plants are.
My arms, back and wrists just can't handle all the mulching any more.
So I watch RS in appreciative wonder....

pulled JD mower into garage and put the charger on the battery, it was in good shape.
Need to remove the bagger today and then cut lawn for first time. That should be enjoyable.
First have to grease mower spindles and that is never easy on this mower due to hiding zerks way under something.
I notice a lot of white stuff coming down on car outside, the pollen has sure begun.

tomorrow I need to hook trailer up to car and go get my golf cart back from a friend's garage. I really use the little bed on back for sticks, like
many of use our UTVs'. That will fill up the garage again.

off to brother's home tonight for an early Easter dinner.
need to avoid dessert...lab tests came back showing my AIC went from 5.9 to 6.0, not good at all. Alarm goes off at 5.7 and starts flashing at 6.5.
I wonder if my two weeks on the road contributed to that, my host always wanted dessert every night. I'll likely make a "deal" with primary doc and endocrinologist that if it creeps up another tenth, then I will start a serious plan to reduce it. I was told my readings are fairly normal for typical somewhat overweight Americans. But typical does not mean healthy for sure.
