Good morning, the low was 40 and going to 45°F for today. Wind SW 11 mph. Showers.

If the showers are light enough I will probably fire up the z turn and run it for a bit to burn off the 6 month old high test.

There is my game plan for today.

Have a safe day all

This is an odd question, but need some input.....

We usually buy a couple pallets (50 bags) of mulch at Lowes when they put it on sale Memorial Day. The price is 5 bags for $10, 2 cubic ft bags.

Home Depot currently has 1.5 cf bags on sale for the same price. Technically, I would have to buy 16 additional bags to make up the .5 cf shortage over 50 bags.

So, 2 pallets worth (100 bags) would require an additional 32 bags (I would get 30)to make up the cf quantity . It would end up costing an additional $60 or an additional $0.46 per bag over the total number of bags.

My question:
Should I wait and see if Lowes does in fact put the mulch on sale again this year? OR Should I get it at HD at a guaranteed price right now....

I am afraid, in this current market, that Lowes may not have that sale as usual.....
If I miss either of these sales, it will cost over double.....
get it now.

if it goes on sale, get it for next year. Stash the pallet in a remote corner and throw a tarp over it.

Morning all, 56 going up to 68 and cloudy after some rain last night.
Planted a few tomatoes and did the dog walk at peddlers village.

Gas - mid grade 4.19 :-( and that was the cheapest station in the area.

Repaired the top deck gate panel with 2x4 base and some cross screws. These extreme winds really knocked it about.

Grass is thick and going to seed already. Did seed some of the cleared back area until I can figure out what to grow there.

Be well,

Good morning, 49 going 64 nice morning after rains last night

Wife is in a lot pain from shoulder so trying get her more comfortable. The shoulder joint needs replacing but she does not want to go through with this.

Mowed some grass yesterday. My mowing program this year is that will do it in smaller increments.
Continuing the PT exercises.
Will order groceries today for pickup tomorrow morning. Points are up to 36 percent off so time to use some of it.

Buppies how could that happen?

Scaredy I would get a lawyer to review before doing anything to make sure you are protecting your interest going forward. She has a lawyer and you don't is not a winning formula

Church was good, followed by baptisms x6, in the Lake (chilly water me thinks), then a potluck at the church. Today it rained all afternoon - evening, so my bon-fire was delayed for another day.

I managed to get a bit of seat-time in yesterday though. Moved a large pile of dirt that was blocking a parking area, and then levelled out that area so that the cars can go there. I also grabbed 3 loads of cut branches and moved them to the burn pile area - I will do a gradual feed to keep the fire within the size limit.

I need to go to the bank(s) tomorrow and see if I can qualify for a mortgage. Wife requested a $150k buyout, and though that may still be generous to her (all things considered), it may be manageable. She has apparently found a place to buy, and will be moving. Not much time to respond, so I hope that this (impulsive decision) works for her. I hope that I qualify for the loan / mortgage. This may not be THE answer, but it is something to consider. It means possibly resolving things cheaper (less lawyers involvements with an agreement vs drawn out court matter), and quicker (she moves out, along with tenant), and since it is her plan and request, all of the other incidentals can probably be kept under the rug (more amicable) and more money in her / our hands (less legal costs) ... so it could be a win-win. Lots to figure out and pray about.

have a good night.
I would invest in an attorney reviewing the “buy-out” to make sure it doesn’t turn into a “Columbo” series..

Good morning. Much cooler today (41), and less than 50 as a high for the next few days. Nonetheless, the ice is completely off our little bay now, and there is no snow in my way of getting to firewood. Will probably pull the boat out of its parking space and get it ready to go in this week. Busy, busy, busy!

Unloaded all the flooring yesterday, some 3000 pounds of it! Electrician is here finishing up all of the rough - ins, so we can start boarding and then start to put the flooring in. The bulk of the IKEA kitchen cupboards are supposed to arrive next week, but Wife wants to delay that because we won’t have my helper here until maybe June. We will see.

Have a great day, folks!

Good morning! 43° now and drizzling.

Yesterday got to about 76° before the rain started. But we got the mowing done before the rain.

No rain Saturday night. And no rider for the race bike. He backed out after I loaded everything up. But, got asked by a rider and his dad if he could race it this Saturday at Mansfield. Good kid, good rider from a good family. Now if the weather cooperates…it is a go.

Not sure what I will do today. This week is gonna be interesting, for the 4th time the new entryway is scheduled to be installed. See what lame excuse they have for not doing it yet again. Also have an appointment to get brakes on the truck the same day. This should be fun

Everyone stay safe out there!
