Morning all, 47 going up to 77 and sunny.
Finally got the driveway cleaned up, needed to use the brushcutter as the autumn olive and honeysuckle have sprouted fast this year. Also more of that mustard stuff, seems to be spreading quite a bit, more invasives.

M7040 - great that your daughter is getting recognition on her good work!
That's a good test, but make sure you ground the lead you pull off by putting a spark plug in it and grounding the plug to the engine. Leaving the lead hanging could damage the ignition system.
yep, forgot to mention that, either isolate or use a plug. Thanks for the reminder.

Be well,

Good morning! 61˚F, North wind heading to the 70s. The Norther blew in last night and brought 1.5" rain, yea, I was just going to have to turn on the irrigation system but now I can wait another 2 weeks.

Trans planted the date trees and fig trees to larger containers.

Got the truck tires rotated and balanced at Discount tire and this time had only a 1.5 hour wait instead of a 4 hour wait. Really cannot go there in the Summer again. A new Costco will open in our town this Fall saving me a 20 mile drive.

Need to check out my potato patch today and see if they have started blooming.

My work day at the "Farm" today was canceled, good thing, too muddy and probably not enough people to keep me busy. Tomorrow will be the first day they are having the crawfish boil, so attendance should pick up.

Good morning, very nice day 62 going 85 today

Lots of unfinished stuff around here to get into. Worked a bit on staking tree shelters yesterday and made some good progress. Still more to do down in the meadow area. Need to get more progress on setting fence poles. This is where I now wish I had gotten the post hole auger for the mini x so I could have indexed it and put down pressure on it. But when done I likely will not need it any more.

Thanks for the congratulations for daughter. She is leaving today for Vienna Austria.

Wife is continuing to feel a bit better and my shoulder is also continuing to improve. Heading in the right direction

Good Morning.
50 outside, not a cloud in the sky.
High of 75 with continued fair sky.

Yesterday was productive, after breakfast went to airport to trouble shoot internet connectivity issue with self serve fuel terminal. No connectivity when I arrived. Tested underground cat 5 cable, it tested good. Tested for internet at switch it plugged into, that was good. Plugged cable into switch, had signal at the terminal. Plugged terminal in, it worked.
I have zero confidence that it will continue, as I found no smoking gun.

Got home hooked up the progressive, then went to lunch. Started mowing when I got home, grandson kept me company. Even rode on the Lazer to to the trimming and RC runway.

Of course we had to test the runway before calling it a day.

This morning looks like a Costco run, and continued cleanup and chores around here. Hopefully Drew’s timing will work with ours and we can accomplish at least some of his RV tasks.

As far as nitrogen, keep in mind that air is already ~20% nitrogen, and that to get any real benefit you would need to remove all the water vapor that’s already in the tire. Even if you completely deflate the tire, it still is full of air at atmospheric pressure. I don’t see them pulling a vacuum on the tire before inflating with nitrogen.
The bottom line is that I have compressed nitrogen here, and fill my tires with air.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 5:30AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 83F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Still no rain in the 10-day, and long range forecast calls for dry weather with above normal temps. The Pacific high is back.

Before I retired, a local restaurant opened and featured rattlesnake on the menu. It lasted less than a year because they couldn't find a reliable supply of snakes. I remember it tasting like chewy chicken. Pretty much like anything breaded and deep fried.

Noticed the other day that 3 month T-bills were yielding just over 5% interest.

The contractors got the new porch cover framed and covered with a layer of tar paper yesterday. Now we're waiting for an inspection before installing the wood stove pipe and closing in the chimney chase.

Good morning! Low of 32°, heading to 60°. Windy again, gusts to 40 mph, 20-25 continuous. There is a slight chance of showers Sunday night and Monday. I sure hope so, getting really dry here again. Humidity is only 8-10%.

Drew, a busy day for sure! Hope they get the tires swapped out and the ride improves. Only had nitrogen filled tires one time.... topped them off with air.... when those tires got replaced, they got filled with air. Have you seen any nitrogen fill stations on the road? -----

RNG, good progress! Looks nice and green there too!

Ron, nice pic as usual! Hope you can finish sharpening the blades.

Paul, nice cub! Does it fly as well as they say it does? I am assuming 'stock' motor / battery? Underpowered? Ample power?

Dennis, enjoy the market. We miss going to them.

We were planning on augering some holes and getting some trees planted. Going to get bumped until at least tomorrow. Not going to play in the wind.

I'll take the opportunity to go to HD and get some water filter cartridges and some bags of garden soil to amend the soil for the tree planting. Forgot about that until Thomas mentioned picking some up.

Everyone have a great day!

It is really because she is getting tired of handling the grapple and straps on the end of the boom, plus trying to get people with equipment to do things we need done takes too long, and if we have a piece of equipment we can do what we want, when we want. I just am averse to taking on a note when we recently paid EVERYTHING off… and what I would like to get vs what is in our conservative price range are two different things. . . But if she is willing, who am I to fight it?
When putting in a new overflow for the pond I paid for half the new excavator right there. And now that I have it is very useful. On cold or too hot days I can always find something to clean up and still be comfortable in the cab.

partially successful morning. Tires installed, front tires balanced, no shimmy at all coming home! (y)

however, in backing up to get out of tire place, backed into another truck's tire/wheel at 1mph. Did nothing to his tire or rim, couldn't even see where I hit, but lots of red
plastic under the wheel. Sigh. I was trying to miss the owner's Expedition parked nearby.
Other truck tire had really long extensions on the lug nuts, that's what touched my lens. Metal over plastic wins.
will go online and order a new tail light assembly.

oh well

Popgadget was busy out fixing other problems so we could not connect. Another day

out to mow the lawn on a pretty day

This afternoon will be taking a truckload to the dump.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

74F and sunny @ 11:45, heading up to around 77F for the day's high. Rain moving in later accompanied by a cold front, will be cooling down to more normal temps throughout the Ten Day, with highs in the 50's and 60's.

Hopper feeder, two tube feeders, and two suet feeders refilled yesterday. Got distracted and forgot to refill the deer feeder.

Got the bearing replaced on the right wheel on the dump cart.

Got all the mowing down around the house, except for a little swath where the wire over to the barn is laying, plus most of the compost/woodlot.

Also got the entire front yard mowed again:

IMG_2489 copy.jpg

... and it's looking pretty good.

No further issues with the Cub, guessing it may have been a minor corrosion issue on some electrical contacts.

Felt pretty beat up from riding the mower all day though.

The three trees we planted last fall are all looking good, two were caged and look great, the third one which wasn't has a little nipping on the lowest branches but otherwise is ok.

The two burning bushes are looking good as well, along with the two peach trees.

Steel supplier closes at 16:00 I think, but starts closing down around 15:00 ... so need to be there well before that.

Did not get any more scrap metal loaded up so will probably handle that sometime next week.

Not sure what all I'll get into after I get back.

Hope everyone is having a Good Friday ... (y)
