Good morning!!!!

Good Morning - currently 58° going to 69°

Hope everyone had a great weekend.. I went fishing on Sunday and had the best day I have ever had in my 65 years..I caught 126 white bass, white perch and a 2 large mouth bass.. My friend Billy who was with me caught 140 of the same fish.... Never seen anything like this ever, it was the most white bass I have ever seen..We started putting the hooks in the water at 2:00 and at 6:30 we just quit..arms and wrists were give out.. We didn't keep any fish since the spawn is on and off right now. Only downside there was too many boats on the water, felt like we had to keep our eyes out for other boats..Which is mainly why we don't fish on the weekends...

Ron & Jay -- Can't thank you guys enough for the best dang pic's ever....

M7040 -- Hope and prayers for daughters boyfriend

Hope everyone has a great day.

RNG, think there will be a slowing of car/van sales coming if you can wait some. A van is handy to have. Use ours all the time. The BF was discharged again from hospital after scans, severe concussion and has to rest.
The spring is wonderful however on the cold side.

Thank you for sharing the good news. Now I am curious- what happened to the other driver?

Thank you Mark P.- By my photo history I'll be seeing increasing numbers of arriving migratory birds the next couple of weeks. I already have 1 hummingbird feeder up and have quite a few oranges ready for the arriving Orioles.

During my absence here all my "projects" were focused on maintaining what I/We have and adding more native plants to make this already diverse property more appealing to the native wildlife. And selfishly, giving me increase opportunities for wildlife pictures. This year will be no different other than changing where I clear the lower field in the Fall. I spent the morning pruning the pear tree A.K.A. photo prop. I still need to do some topping and clear out the jungle of water sprouts on the upper laterals. That old tree is half dead I need to be cautious on how much to prune out. I hate ladders nowadays, I only climb as high as I am willing to fall.

Nice picture Jay. (y)

I am shaky on ladders too. One time I drove by the Home Depot dumpster. There was one of those huge rolling ladders they use inside in the dumpster. I was tempted. If you could hook it to the front of your tractor that would be very handy. Platform top step with a handrail, yup that would be the cats meow.

65°F and no rain.

A few more hours with the flail this morning to finish up that area. That will leave the interior mowing. Maybe Sophie will let me use her BX.

Need a PO run as well.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Not sure what happened to the other driver . BF has no recollection of the accident. I will ask see if more information is forthcoming

We have planted native trees on our property and we are now officially considered a Tree Farm. The first trees were planted 7 years ago and they are up to 30 ft tall. The last trees were planted 3 years ago. We have seen big increases in bird and other wild life

this is as ugly as it gets...
but at least enough left to be legal until replacement comes

if they're up that close to be offended, they must be tailgating, right?

Do you release most of the fish?

51F and mostly cloudy @ 14:00, heading up to around 53F for the day's high. Chance of occasional rain showers.

Just started on second cup of coffee which is tasting good.

Saw Red-tailed Hawk swoop into feeder area just as I was about head up to the shop yesterday. Squirrels and birds scattered in all directions.

Got trimming done on metal pieces for mobile base, also some more cleanup/beveling with flap disc.

Drilled two holes in the sides (L & R) very near the size of the heads (which are round) for the shoulder bolts. Just near enough size-wise to be able to drive the bolts in, but not quite all the way.

That left the heads sticking out about 1/8 to provide clearance for the wheels and gave me something to weld to, on the outside. Plug-welded them on the inside.

Laid out the four sides of the mobile base and secured them with right angle welding magnets and tacked everything up.

Once that was done I ran down to the local hardware before they closed and picked up two 100mm pieces of 12mm x 1.75 pitch threaded rod which fit the leveling feet and four nuts to go along with with the rod.

Then drilled the four holes for the brackets for the leveling feet and got the nuts welded onto those. Chased them with a tap after they cooled to clean up the distortion the heat introduced.

Cut the two pieces of threaded rod in half, giving me four pieces roughly 2" in length ... which is just enough to run the feet down and raise the wheels and caster off the floor.

Also cut an 8" long piece of rod into four 2" lengths - those will get welded to the tops of the threaded rods to make t-handles. Will probably have to keep a short length of pipe handy to be able to run them down owing to the short length of the handles (clearance issue)

Last thing I did was weld up the four sides of the mobile base. That will need to have some grinding done on the welds on the interior where the saw base rests, so that the inside is flat.

Knocked off around 03:00 and came back down to the house.

Woman's Eye Doctor went ok apparently, although She does have to go back in 3 months (monitoring for possible glaucoma) She did get another 'script for ReStasis.

She made Red Curry Chicken yesterday before She left for Her Appointment, which I thought was quite tasty. She didn't think it had any "flavor" the first time She ate it. She had some more later last night after it had cooled off and thought it tasted pretty good. Go figure ...

Wood pile in front of shop is nearly gone ... which will be nice because after it gets a little clean up I can park the van there instead of in the driveway (and avoid having to move it every time someone needs in or out)

Agenda for today:

Refill hopper feeder, will add some raisins to the mix.

Clean up last piece of steel bar needed for swivel caster mounting and get it drilled for the bolts to attach it. Get that, and the angle it's welded to, welded to the mobile base.

Determine height for leveling feet brackets and get those welded on.

Weld t-handles on threaded rods for leveling feet as well.

Hit all of it with the wire brush in the angle grinder and at that point it should be ready for primer and paint. Not sure if I have enough primer or not ... will have to see.

Beautiful sunset/twilight sky last evening:
