Been on free trial of Youtube TV last few days fed via Starlink. Converting from Dish will save over $90/month (almost pay for Starlink). So far it has performed quite well, no weather clitches etc. a bit challenging getting use to menu. As we are used to using 2 remotes, I ordered a 2nd TV remote from Amazon for the Sony which is our newest and a smart TV. Our other TV that we watch is about 16 years old, not a smart TV, whole different learning curve as access will be via AppleTV. If anyone here has any hints/suggestions re Youtube TV…
Gotta love learning new things at such a tender age.

I’m curious about YouTube tv.

Miss a day and 😲. Yesterday was a beautiful day to take the drive down to CT for my niece's birthday/graduation from college party and return home. We ended up eating at my Wife's favorite restaurant on our way back home. The restaurant had opened up outdoor dining on this beautiful day and unfortunately were short staffed. It was sad that many "entitled" people walked out because they either had to wait for an outdoor table or table service was slow. One party of 5 who were seated walked out, and I heard one of them say- "We'll go somewhere else....." We saw them walking around across the street as We were finishing dinner. They looked angry and "hungry":ROFLMAO:.

Drew- I am really glad that your tools were safe and found. I had assumed that they had been "appropriated."

Kilroy- I hope that your neighbors “disappear” legally.

Fritz- A belated happy birthday. I wish many more trips around the sun in good health, love, and happiness.

Newbury- Thank you for the link.

Mostly clear skies with 48ºF this morning's low temperature. The sun has since burned off the clouds and it is a clear and sunny 55ºF. I expect the clear and sunny skies to continue through the day with an afternoon high temperature ~70ºF and clear skies tonight. Another beautiful Spring day to appreciate. This week I start getting the rider, string trimmer operational and swap the box scraper blades to the tiller.

I saw a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak at the feeders yesterday morning. Maybe today I can capture a couple of pics of the arriving birds.

We made the leap to all streaming this year as well. It is a bit more convoluted to navigate, but works well and saves money.

Old people and New technology are always a curious mix!

I’ve been wanting to replace dads dish network (which I pay) with something cheaper like YouTube tv, but I still need to get him internet. I’m afraid he will get too confused to use it. He has dish down pat, as long as tv input doesn’t get changed.
I bought a $30 Roku for my basement TV as it has better apps. I plan to take it to dad’s next trip along with my cellular internet, to see if he can use it. His basic needs are weather channel, ESPN for football, News channels, local TV.
My oldest son got us the $99 ROKU for the upstairs tv. A smart TV also but the Roku works better. I use it to stream my computer to the TV. I dabbled the other day with one of the free tv apps. Didn’t see too much that interested me.

Morning all, 63 going up to 75 and sunny.
Had some rain last night, this time it waited for me to finish outdoor work
Put in 6 hours total, 2 on the mower, 4 with pole saw and weedwacker.
The firebushes, autumn olive, honeysuckle etc. really grow this time of year, some shoot out quite a few feet. Still have more to do along the road, the trench etc.

First flower from last years clematis plant.
However it has latched onto the cage not the trellis, oops.
Guess I have to wait till winter to fix that.

Another person I grew up with passed. I talked to him a bit late last year :-(

Happy birthday M7040 and many more.

Happy birthday to your son Ron

I am a big fan of Roku and streaming, but wife won't let me turn off Comcast.
I even have the comcast app on my downstairs Roku TV.

In between all the events and outdoor work, have been doing my day job.
But UK have off today so trying to finish early to be outside again :)

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 5:00AM. Rain showers early becoming more intermittent for the afternoon. High 67F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
Radar is showing some rain west of here, moving to the northeast, but so far we've been dry this morning.

Good luck with YouTube TV, David. If you can figger it out, I'd love to dump my DishNetwork feed, as they keep increasing the price without providing any additional content.

Speaking of content, how do you find it? My buddy's daughter has an Amazon Firestick, and likes to jump around between Hulu, Paramount+, FreeVee, and other services, depending on what they're serving at the moment. Then when we try going through the menus looking for something to watch, it's pretty overwhelming. I've lost track of the number of times we got fifteen minutes into a program, gave each other an odd look, and went back to the menus looking for something else to watch...

Another shooting in Chico last night, but this time they caught the perps. An 18 yo and 14 yo, both armed with handguns, shooting into someone's house. Probably gang stuff.

Mixed results on the Vanagon yesterday. I was getting crazy values on the voltage readings for the main power relay, even seeing 37 Volts at one point. How does that happen in a 12 Volt system? Found a shop online that specializes in Subaru conversion wiring harnesses, so sent them an email asking about details. Fingers crossed that pans out.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Good morning! 70˚F heading to the upper 80s with light fog and cloudy skies.

Yesterday was the last day of the crawfish boil at the "Farm". I don't think it drew the crowds as expected but enough people to keep me busy. The peaches are light green and lemon size, and the neighbors corn now has ears forming. crops are growing fast in this heat and rain every 14 days.

This week - Sunday is the "Mothers Day Brunch" it will be quite a feast. Here is the list of the items in the buffet:
"Expect all of the traditional favorites & a bit more… A carving station with Seasoned Tenderloin and Honey Apricot Turkey Breast, Millers Blueberry and Andouille Sausages, Shrimp Cocktails, Sautéed Vegetable Medley, Yogurt, Parfait bar, Fresh Fruit Salads, Bacon (a few different ways), Caesar and Garden Salads, Biscuits and Farm Fresh Gravy, Waffles and topping bar (including Fried Chicken!). Various casseroles, hashes, and bakes, Cheeses, Meats, and Crudités. Fresh pastries, donuts, and breads. Coffee, Juice, Milk, and Iced Tea. (Mimosas & beer available for purchase during brunch)."

Today, My chainsaw and I have been invited to the new North trail in the neighbor, fun, fun. But I will leave no tools behind, they come attached to me.

Ken,
I'm headed to Verizon later today. I may ask for your help fine tuning this stuff.
for a guy who once owned a Radio Shack, I am sadly confused by most setup procedures.
I put the codes/passwords in and they hardly ever work.

off to Heath's service center in Lambertville shortly to get new battery for rv.
I started buying gas there in 1966. It's very cool to have such long relationships.
will also have them see if a larger house battery(s) will fit in the compartment.

Don, I was happy to retrieve my tools and get them back in the garage.
don't think I'll do that again

We have an outside over the air antenna and my wife wanted so we have the amazon fire tv. We really don't watch much TV so it's pretty much a waste of money. She keeps wanting dish network and I keep holding out that it's not worth the money and the time that would be wasted. I do miss a lot of the motor sports and the RFD channel but you had to pay for the high dollar packages to get those channels. We do watch some of the series that have been on but just like old fashioned over the air tv if I liked it, it didn't last but just a couple of seasons or less.
