So, my flail fix worked.
I did have to change to a longer pto shaft, but for some reason, hard on shear bolts.

I did mow a couple hours, but when last shear bolt brike I called it quits. Lifted mower to head home and greeted by a very lopsided presentation.
Apparently the stabilizer bolt broke, which also holds the lift arm
IMG_1023.JPG

Normally there is a bolt welded there.
This is my 3rd failure on this part. Gonna say maybe a poor design. Anyway, I had that long bolt seen in pic and was able to limp home.

Hoping I can drill this out and just replace bolt.

1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Good evening all. 73ºF for the start, breezy, overcast. Light to moderate wind, overcast morning, mostly cloudy afternoon, high temp was 87ºF HI 96ºF. Putter to start day, bike ride later in morning. Yesterday's hair shortening helped with sweat control in morning. After lunch borrowed trim mower and mowed inside back fence. Hopefully can fix mower before need to do that again. Cleaned air filter and mower bottom before returning mower. No nap. Wife and I made meatballs for dinner :)

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

62.2F, going to upper 70s, showers intermittent starting late morning.

up waaaay too early: critters making noise outside, woke me up. Then Nature sang her siren song and had to be answered.

Then, at about quarter to three, there was a distant boom and a barely perceptible vibration, like a distant peak of thunder. I checked the radar but nothing. Looked for any real-time seismic data but nothing found. Reported it to DYFI, will have Mrs check her FB local page when she gets up. She fell asleep on the sofa watching tv last night, she probably slept through it.

Part of yesterday’s shopping adventures involved a new battery for Mrs Subaru. The evening before, while heading out for dinner, went out to the car and barely made one rev before clicking and dying. Battery was last replaced at a dealer in 2017. 85 month prorate on the Genuine Subaru Battery, but the nearest dealer from here is over 90 minutes away - it would cost more in gas than it is worth. Batteries have gotten really expensive!!!! $200+ for a 24 month battery at local parts store where we normally do business!

I didn’t get to work on the flipper for the PTO last night, couch tentacles got me. if the weather is too marginal to pull more stumps that will be one of today’s activities.

We bought tow dig trees at the local produce stand, I need to remove a couple mountain laurels so that I have a nice spot for one at the house, and the other will go up to the woodlot. And I will start looking for burlap NOW for the winter covering.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy blessed day!

PTO flippy-thingy didn’t get done, but everything else on the list did. I call it a win for the day.

Coffee is done brewing, 61° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with possibility of rain in morning. Got about 10 drops of rain. After getting gas and diesel cans put away. Decided to do a conserve energy day. Those cans are heavy when loaded with fuel. Never made it to new Kubota dealer. Another conserve energy day today.
Put out a request for Lighthouse Keeper on my Garden Pond. Only got one applicant.

Good morning, the low temp is 41 and it is going to a high of 62°F. Wind N 10 to 15 mph. Sunny.

I am going to try to get the conveyor tin work done today. If I can't for whatever reason, then I'll get into the clearing recovery.

That is about it for today, have a safe day all.

good morning all
55 going up to 77 today in clouds.

have to clean up my office a bit first thing so Verizon guy can easily get to router this afternoon for install.
Then headed outside to fire up the cordless mower.
For 30 bucks more, they had a package deal where a small leaf blower was also included, I bit on that, though I already have two...
I doubt this one will work as well as my well loved Makitas.

Ron, nice lighthouse. Now see if you can get it to light up at night.
