63F and mostly cloudy @ 14:00 but the Sun is trying to peek out. Heading up to around 66F for the day's high. Looks like we got 0.72" of rain overnight which is good since the chances for rain over the next ten days appears to be very, very low ... maybe 20% on the best day and otherwise less than 10% most other days. Big Bermuda High setting up apparently.
Upside is that it should be absolutely fantastic weather to work outside and get some stuff done.
Got up to the shop last night and found a piece of thin-wall steel tube that just fits inside the nozzle of the weed burner. Will need to modify it slightly so that it fits in there snugly. Maybe a couple of small spot welds.
The OD of the tube is 2 1/4" ... so really only good for punching small holes in the fabric for seeds. Likely too small for anything in the way of plants.
I did order a few exhaust adapters on Amazon that will provide a 3" and 4" holes ... which should work for planting actual plants of some size. Will be here Sunday.
After that I came down and got 10 (of the 20) All Star everbearing strawberries potted up. These look much nicer than the Earliglow strawberries ... they have actual green shoots coming out of them. Will pot up the last 10 of those today after I fill the mealworm feeder.
Neighborhood cat came by for a visit last night while I was doing that.
Refilling the hopper and tube feeders also on the agenda.
Might dig out the Stihl pole saw and trim back the Japanese Yew at the southeast corner of the house. Kinda hate to do it as I know the Cardinals have nested in it but it's blocking the light to a planting bed underneath it.
We have probably 6 of these Japanese planted next to the house, 3' from the foundation ... which was a terrible idea since they get absolutely huge (20'+ tall)
Would like to try and remove and transplant all of them this year if I can managed it. They would make a nice privacy barrier over on the west side of the house along the property line.
Beyond that, I might hook up the core aerator and run that over the lawn again ... since it should be moist enough.
Miss Roy Jackson and Toppop ... and think about them quite often ... RIP guys.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday ...
