Finally bought a small generator.

After massive storms ripped through western IN last night, I finally bought a 3500W Inverter Generator from HF. It will run almost 24 hours on 5 gallons of fuel.

So far, quite impressed. Easy setup and starting, also very quiet. Rumor says we could be without power for 6 days. Looks like I can keep the freezers running and the air fryer too

change the oil after your done, the small engines throw a pretty good amount of silver in the oil initially.

I have a champion dual fuel still in the box in the garage. Sam's club had a special on them a couple years ago after an ice storm. Couldn't pass up the price.

I always service a generator and run it dry after using it. I also bag the exhaust to keep the daubers out.

It was the last one the local HF had, people were coming from 40 miles away looking for one. It feels so luxurious standing in front of an open fridge in the middle of a power outage

A generator/inverter can be the best thing in life sometimes.

We don't lose power too often but when we do....monet well spent

The larger inverter generators are a great option for power outages, and are SO QUIET. I have a bad habit of collecting various sized generators, and use a 3500w inverter for my trailer, a 2000w inverter for small tools, and a 15kw pto generator for the house.
I haven't lost power since getting the pto generator several years ago.
