Back to watching black and white TV

Being a child of the 70's, I remember doing a double-take the first time I saw (or more accurately, heard) Denver Pyle on a rerun of the Andy Griffith show, as the patriarch of the Darling family. His voice was always unmistakable, and despite not looking all that "Uncle Jesse" yet, there he was.

John Ritter was another one that seemed to show up all over the TV dial, in small un-named parts, before earning a household name in Three's Company.
I remember the first time I saw him in Perry Mason.
Holy cow! Talk about a totally different person. He was in a couple Perry Mason episodes and his parts were nothing like the darling family.

... and even farther from Uncle Jesse.

I don't know how anyone could wear that many layers of clothing, including the red old-skool long-johns, in Georgia heat!

I'm watching another episode of The Texan tonight, where his friend is scheduled to be hung tomorrow. A couple of things I've been wondering about... did they really build a gallows every time that somebody was hung? Also, how long does it take to build one? They've been hammering the same nails in place since he rode into town a day ago.

That looks kind of like a California background in the pic.

I believe most of the series was filmed in Georgia or Louisiana. I know it was set in Georgia.

I always liked the episodes with the Darling Family singing. They were talented.

James Best was the guitar player in a couple early episodes.
So Andy and Barney were the early Boss Hogg and Roscoe Coltrane Although I don't think aunt Bea was Daisy.

It's the old shows which are in black and white.
... and here I thought this was just 5030's dry humor, he was making a joke on us. :ROFLMAO:
