I do not believe you will see 64HP running 1000rpm PTO speed.

It's not overly common, but it is out there. Tym lists 540/1000 as an option for the T754 and LS has it as standard for their MT573CPS which is almost the same size. I know some of the older CIH tractors in that size range had it too.

I understand it has 1000 RPM PTO. But I believe it will have less power at this speed. I am afraid it will not perform well on this baler. Maybe I am mistaken but torque will be much lower.

Isn't a 1000 rpm PTO gear one that has the engine turning at PTO rpm when the PTO is turning 1000 rpm, like you'd use for a 1000rpm implement?

On my Branson the 750 rpm PTO gear would be turning 750 when the engine is running at 2500, which is the same engine rpm that gets me 540 rpm when the PTO is in the 540 gear. When I use the 750 rpm PTO gear with a 540 implement I have to run the engine at 1800 so I don't over speed the implement.

Yes this is correct. The baler the OP has requires 1000 PTO speed. It is like climbing a hill in high gear. Takes more power to maintain speed. This is why I think the T754 will struggle with this baler. If he wants to run this baler I suggest more HP.

It aint the power, it’s the weight. I used to RB with an M7040 with filled rear tires. The PTO power was fine, but the baler with a full bale could get sideways on hills if not careful. Flat was fine, small hills fine.
You can always gear-down if short on power.

At 1000 PTO speed or 540? But I agree with the weight thing for sure.

Ballasted I'm expecting the T754 to be around 8300lbs, maybe more with some cast wheel weights added. Do you think that is enough? I'm kinda thinking it would be marginal, but I don't have enough experience with that size of tractor to say with any certainty and I've never pulled a 5x4 baler to know just what that would feel like behind a tractor.

I’d have to see your hills. Flat, not a problem. Hills compound the problem a lot. There are strategies with light tractors on hills. Make sure baler chamber is not full, using 4WD & locking diffs, not baling when grass/ground is wet, etc.

Interesting thread. I don't run any ballast (loaded tires) in my M9 cab and I've pulled a NH 450 Roll Belt net bailer 4x5 which I've sold and now have a Kubota BV European style totally enclosed 4x5 round bailer. Never an issue with either, heck, I cannot tell the difference between a fully loaded bailer and one with no round in it. I much prefer the Kubota BV over the NH actually. Much more adjustable for density and like a Klass, it runs a soft center easy to spear bale and the computer controls are also much more advanced, plus it's light years easier to thread the net in.
