I can't help much here. I have the later model where that plunger-spring assembly (photo2) is a unit thst screws into the back end of the IP. The manual advises not to adjust it.

I can't visualize what yours is supposed to look like. In the past, many Kioti dealers sponsoired excellent parts manuals online but that may be a thing of the past. Here are drawings that are supposed to be CH-30h models but not sure any of them cover yours. Could you be missing some parts? Maybe you can find drawings of other models with an IP similar to yours?

The purpose of that part is to push the rack forward (more fuel direction) enough got the engine to idle, balancing spring pressure against the centrifugal governor. It seems there should be a solid metal piece in contact with the rack, not just a spring. Maybe a Bosch (now Zexel) shop can advise?

Yes, thanks. I nearly reassembled it before I noticed that it didn't look right. I feel there should be a sleeve or pad in between the spring and the rack so it looks like stalemate until I find out. I have looked at exploded views but none show that item so far. Very frustrating. I did drop the pump in and the spring did not make contact with the rack. I guess I have to keep looking inside for a lost part.

Maybe this will help:
Parts Finder Michigan Iron & Equipment Morrice, MI (855) 265-4590

It is for a CK30 with the old style stop solenoid, like yours. It shows five parts in addition to the spring.

Michigan Iron is a good dealer and there are few remaining. Kioti US corporate buffonery has killed off many of their dealers. When asked for tractor advice (rare now) I recommend a good local dealer over details of the actual machine (except for really bad machines).

Additional: The diagram appears to show a simple idle stop screw instead of the more elaborate start/idle design used on later tractors. Worst case you may be able to fabricate something from a sufficiently long screw with the right threads. Or maybe I'm wrong.

More busy-body help: I like to use a non-hardening gasket dressing (like Hylomar) to facilitate future maintenance, providing there not much pressure across the gasket.

Thanks mate. I appreciate the links you have found. I am more confused as all I can see is a cover I can't get off, and the spring. No bolts or nuts or anything else. I have to investigate further as that looks like just the spring contacts the rack. There is no sleeve or pad that goes on the end of the spring. I need to get a mirror in there somehow.

Is there an update? Hope it’s working!

No update yet sorry. No change. I have been unable to do any work due to severe spinal degeneration that has seen me in bed a lot lately.

I couldn't find any other parts related to that spring that touches the end of the injector rack on idle.
I have refitted the pump and lil Panther is ready for me to bleed and start.
I did open the lift pump and the valves and diaphragm look OK. I was going to fit a new one anyway but finding one here is not easy. They all come from USA via ebay or other. Pump is around AU$64 and postage is over $102. Ridiculous.
Will keep looking. Any easy way to bleed these. I was going to start at the inj pump and then the injectors. Not easy for me to get a spanner in there the way I am.
