Rabbit populations

Our rabbit population seems more than usual this year. While bush hogging I have seen lots of them scattering. We see them in our yard all of the time.

Have a few rabbits here, but the cats and red tailed hawks keep the population down.
Years ago I had a big (17lbs.) male black cat that caught a few every year, especially young ones in the spring and early summer. He would usuallu eat at least part of them after he caught them. Often left the heads on the back porch.

it seems like I see more rabbits in town than I do around home. Foxes and owls are more active in rural areas, I guess. They are probably desensitized to humans in town also.

Lots of wabbits here in southern ontario. Expect to see more foxes, coyotes, coydogs and wolves in the near future too.

Rabbit, squirrel and deer populations seem normal this year but have noticed more turkey recently and a ground hog for the first time. Seems each year we see something new to us like roadkill armadillo's, never saw a live on here. We have see an explosion of humming birds this year.

Definitely more rabbits here in the Pee Dee of SC this year than before.

Rabbit and squirrel population are way down by me. but fox and deer are way up as compared to last year.

We have been infested with deer for years. Now add turkey to that equation. Both highly nuisance. Also will be losing some coons around here pretty soon.

My wife and I were just talking about this. There are a bunch more that I remember seeing in the past. We also have more birds of prey than in the past as well. Somehow it's working out.

Definitely more rabbits here in the Pee Dee of SC this year than before.

I have family in that area. Hemingway, Johnsonville, and around the Scranton/ Lake city area. Used to ski in the Pee Dee and Black rivers.

I live between Lake City and Coward, a bit west, in the sticks. Grew up here and spent all of my spare time at Brown's Ferry and Santee skiing. Had a house on Lake Marion. I was a pretty accomplished skier. I'm 65, graduated HS in 1976. My buddies and I would go to the Ferry every afternoon after work during the summer and ski until dark. The best place I know of to water ski.
