Kioti dk45s
Accidently crossed the positive and negative cables while trying to jump start my Kioti Dk45s. Now i can't get anything when i turn the ignition key. Dash electronics are completly dead. No clicking noises, nothing. Any help?

Must have either blown a fuse or fuse-able link. Will just have to track down until you find the break.

Here is hoping that Kioti built protection into their units. Electronics do not like having the voltage reversed.

Had a customer this week post in our forum for VW cars that they did the same. Lots of control modules in the car were smoked. Felt bad for the guy. He is living a painful error.

My hope for you is that it is only a fuse!

If the diodes in the rectifier get fried the alternator can then send AC current out in the system, cooking other components. Ye$, it can be costly.

Check fuses, there may be a master fuse that is blown, owners manual should show wiring diagram and location and value of fuses.... Probably looking for a 40 to 60 amp "main" fuse....

According to this PDF file there is a slow blow fuse coming off the battery/starter that supplies power to everything electrical... Might check it!

Also....

I did this accidently, hurriedly swapping out a battery and wasn't paying attention and put the wires on the wrong posts. It blew the main fuse near the starter.

I'm guessing you have done the same thing.

Pretty sure it was a 40amp. But mine was a small Case IH DX24e SCUT

Crossing the jumper cables doubles the Voltage on the system: 2 x 12 Volts = 24 Volts! Voltage is pressure to push electrons through the electronics. It can fry a lot of components, in a short amount of time... It is possible the maker put in a protective circuit, to prevent over-voltage damage from reversed cables. It costs them money to do that, so they may not have done it.

If the fuses do not fix it, you are likely looking at replacing circuit boards. I was an Electronic Technician for 3.5 years, doing component level repairs -- replacing resistors, diodes, transistors, capacitors, etc. I worked on Switching Power Supplies for computers: high wattage, high voltage, with literally explosive failures. It was always fun to turn on a repaired Power Supply for the first time, to see what happened... I wish you the best of luck. Cheers!

There’s no way to get 24V, wiring two batteries in series, with only a set of jumper cables. Well. I suppose you have 24V right until you connect the last clamp.
You’re really only shorting two batteries, and/or the charged battery is overpowering the dead one, and dead vehicle’s components get a reverse polarity.
Diodes, if present, can ofer protection from this depending where located in circuits.

You are correct. Sorry. Been too long since I worked as a tech.

As other said...check fuses.
Do have meter? start at battery work your way back slowly
