Dogs got him.
What everyone seems to be saying is that stealing the gun took the pressure to get him up to a higher level, since he now became armed and dangerous.
Seems to me that if a person convicted of murder escapes, it should escalate to an instant death sentence. The whole argument against capital punishment is that life without parole protects society. Should be a federal thing and quick. Not much to do as far as evidence. The guy clearly escaped and was convicted of murder. Tomorrow, he should escape permanently.

Took time to make a little $ today.
Delivered this 13 ton load of mushroom hay this afternoon.
This will get $120/ton.

Please don't name evil. I think we would have less sensational crimes if everyone in the media would just refer to these cretins as 'the murderer' or 'the escapee'.

Oh my daily routine didnt change a bit! I carried out mowing hay and fields and large lawns with a 9MM & 19 shot clip my ability to continue work never missed a beat.

Imagine if there were no 2nd amendment.

Back to some baling action or lack thereof. The end of baling season is fast approaching. Goal is to be done end of September (I know…..we plan….God laughs).

Here is the beginning of baling right after raking was completed. Great weather-dry & sunny.

Today I was able to rake up about 30 acres and bale it myself despite a 2 hour long breakdown to replace a broken spring.
Got that fixed and finished 2 front fields. While outside looking at baler, I discovered this:

Looks like it’s time for repairs again.
Also broke a hay dog bolt….

Should be another wild & wacky finish to the season.….

How'd the bearing come out, snap ring break? I suppose the hole is too wallowed out to reinstall a new bearing and snap ring. Not to complain but it looks like the arm's been used for target practice for a hammer, just sayin' :)

Do you have a local dealer for that baler that keeps all the parts in stock? Two hours to fix a repair seems fast to me, especially if you have to go find parts.

Fortunately I had the spring that broke. But it took 2 hours to stretch it and hook it on the cam lobe. Actually took 2 of us. One stretching the spring and another to hook it in the hole.
Needed a couple beers with my family and my sons friends after that one.

The bearing didn’t come out. It’s supposed to look that way. The bearing rolls into the arm with the semis circular notch and allows the feeder clutch to spin clockwise and feed hay up into the packer.
The green arm is getting loose and sloppy on the shaft behind it and it feels like it could break soon.
It does look like the previous owner did a little ”heat & beat” job on it.
I’m surprised it’s not greasable.
