The protracted charging deal will be the factor that breaks the bank on EV's. No one wants to sit for a prolonged amount of time, charging their toaster car that I know of. People today are always in a hurry and always late for a very important date even if it's 99% BS.t was at that moment, I decided the entire EV thing was silly. It was giant leap backwards in evolution.
The issue of course is, not every EV owner can have a home charging unit, especially urban dwellers and if everyone that has an EV also has a high draw home charger with the marginal condition of the national grid, all those high draw chargers will cause it to fail. Kind of catch 22 and I fail to understand the concentrated push for EV's anyway.
As electricity use increases without the needed infrastructure upgrades, the chance of failure (of the grid increases).
I do believe that automakers in general see the EV thing as a passing fad. Maybe not but I believe so.
