Like I said...EV's need a technological breakthrough to fix their inheretnt problems.

Not so sure on VW...

Could be related to word getting out about how poor and trouble prone all of the cars software is. Battery management software recall in process now and unless something major has changed it is Not like a Tesla where over the air update actually works.
The ID series most times need to be brought in and left at the dealer for updates. VW has done a poor job on all of the software on their electric vehicles, and many people are gun shy.

Thanks for clearing up it wasn't a Supercharger location. That Tesla is using an adapter that that permits the use of non Tesla charging stations. That driver should have pulled to the last plug if they were going to park incorrectly. Backing in correctly could solved what you mentioned.

Toyota did a great analysis and that is why they went forward with plug in hybrids and fuel cells. They know the infrastructure (read electric production) is years behind what would be needed and the system could not handle a massive move toward EV. They are playing along now because of intervention, but I think they will have the last laugh.

It seems funny that people worry about diversity in nature and such, but don't see the value in diversity of power generation.

I just don't see mass adaption of EV's happening in the transportation world. It just dosen't make sense with todays technology. As long as there is an alternative that is mass adapted and works in todays society (ICE), EV's will need something with a giant technological leap to make the adaptation work.

So either EV's will need either a charging mechanism that will do it in an equal time it takes to fuel a car, or a battery that has such a large capacity, it eliminates the need to always worry about charging every 300 miles, without being so heavy it eliminates the benefits of an EV. If a battery gets too heavy, it cancels out all the benefits.

EV companies know this, the big 3 know this. Why spend all this money on a technology that really dosen't solve any real problems, it's jut investing in a status quo.

EV's are at the inflection point. Everyone that is enamored by them, have them. How do car companies get people like me to totally ditch a sure thing for another sure thing.

Maybe that something is the government subsidies and severe regulations of ICEV

70,762 miles on the ol Golf Cart Model 3 today. I’ve never been to a supercharger.

Driving the Ram tomorrow to pickup some batteries with some leaky cores I’d rather not have in the Tesla trunk. Not looking forward to the $75 round trip that will be… or not being able to sit back and have the vehicle drive the distance for me.

I like both… (Radio, anyone see that movie?)

When I drove a Prius, I was tempted to get a bumper sticker that said something like 'I'm not a tree hugger, I'm just cheap!'

I was/am very atypical for a Prius driver. Maybe the exception that proved the rule.
