Different tastes I guess. I wouldn't mind the linked hydro pedals.
I'm surprised to discover that there are more tractors on the market with this feature and it can't be disengaged. This definitely slipped past me in all my research. This underscores the importance of always demoing a machine before committing to purchasing it.

But as far as your jerkiness complaint.....too bad they didn't do like some tractor brands and put a reactivity setting dial so you can control the reactiveness of the hydro.
The only way I could see them implementing that is through electronic linked HSTs like the Kubota HST+.

I'll have to see if my dealer has one yet and go try it just for the heck of it.
Doubt I'll want it though.
If you are interested in this model then I definitely encourage you to try it for yourself. And when you do let us know what your experience is with it.

On my Branson 2610h I occasionally wish I could disengage the auto throttle. I usually run the brush cutter in the economy PTO mode and setting the hand throttle to 1850 rpms. In mid range the auto throttle won't allow full ground speed without also raising rpms above the 540 mark. In high range however the 1850 rpms isn't enough torque to mow up hill.
Same goes for cruising down the road. No reason to run 2700 rpms, but that's the only way to access maximum ground speed. My old Simplicity Sovereign garden tractor allowed 80-90% ground speed at any throttle setting.
Overall I'd still am glad I have auto throttle. The above are really just quirks and not significant complaints.
If you really want to, you can disconnect the cable at the injection pump. It's very easy and doesn't even need tools. Just a little rubber keeper out, disconnect the cable and put the rubber keeper back in.

Obviously not as practical as having a lever near the operator, but still doable if you want.

Well at least there is a possible work around.

I might try it at some point to see how I like it.

I have a LX4020, It's smooth, powerful, quiet, the loader is smooth as silk as well. The Auto Throttle is awesome as well. Just the title of this thread got me to click on it but I quickly found out it's total BS lol. "LX4020 Already Having Problems" Lol yeah if you count the guy that was out tire kicking

I assure you sir, I know exactly how "auto throttle" works. I have been using my tractor with it (it came standard) for over 6 years now. This is such a non-event.

The LINKED PEDALS (instead of calling it "auto-throttle", if you prefer) was a feature to enhance front end loader work ease. No idea where you came up with the idea that it was only to be used for "transport across properties". I can only think Kubota finally included this due to being questioned so many times on why they don't offer it from so many new prospective customers. Most of their competition has already incorporated it in at least part of their lineup.

I think you're possibly operating under an incorrect mindset. The auto throttle does not "lock the transmission" into anything. The motion pedal (only forward on the Kubota, no idea why) has an additional mechanical linkage that actuates the throttle on the engine. It is a mechanical apparatus. It cannot be "switched" on and off. There is no computer involved in this function. It is built in when they assemble the tractor.

If you want to run anything off of the pto, you simply run up the hand throttle to your desired pto rpms and go. I do this frequently myself. There is zero drama. The motion pedals provide ground motion as before. You can pto operate yourself all around, over hills and over dales.

The pedals are "jerky" because you are ham-footing the pedals. If you raise the rpms with the hand throttle and then "ham-foot" the pedals, it will be jerky too. Even more so, because with raised rpms, your hydro pump will have more flow. You have to "learn" your foot pedal. No idea what tractor you're comparing it to, but you can't just jump in the cab and start stomping pedals in any hydro tractor I've been on. At least not if they have mechanical pedal linkages. Part of being a "pro-operator", instead of just a "seat dummy", is knowing your equipment, and how to operate it smoothly. That takes adapting to each piece of equipment differently.
Sounds like it's an operator issue as well as the salesman may not understand the feature.

Or more like a guy that hates Kubota for some reason.

O:n my Yanmar YT235C I set the lever on the dash for 1700
rpm and then use the foot petal for what ever speed I want. I
also have the cruise control.

Yeah I sure hate Kubota that's why I took two days out of my busy schedule last week to go down there and try them out.
Well you need to blame yourself instead of Kubota for not knowing how to operate the tractor. A few posters that own that exact tractor have mentioned you were not operating it correctly.
How to operate

Perhaps that salesman did not inform the customer how it
works?????? Not all salesman know what they are selling
and how they work or how to operate one. Just facts
