Still the same problem with power tool batteries. Should be standardized like flashlight batteries.

Bruce
I have adapters I bought from ebay sellers so I can connect my Craftsman saw to 20v Dewalt battery for example.

Electronic signature pads, where they "tell you what you are signing." It's easy to say just don't do it, but when you are at a health care facility and your choices are to sign and see the doctor or go home it's not that easy.

His answer: "My doctor would probably tell me to stop, but I've known a lot more old drunks than old doctors."
The first eye doctor I went to as a seven year old boy, Dr. Hersch, always had strange breath. As I got older, in my 20s, I realized his breath smelled of peppermint and scotch. The lady ophthalmologist that took over his practice told me he was a alcoholic. I still remember his strange breath when he was examining me.

Today's peeve. I'm sure others can relate. I just washed & dried my Mustang, then get behind some guy in a beat-up truck and he runs his wiper/washer .
Everyone should know, you only do that when passing annoying cyclists on the road.

Certain foods that taste great when eaten but can't stand the smell of on a plate or spoon etc the next day.
Ketchup, peanut butter, stale beer come to top of mind

Stale or skunked beer? Never liked it when I was on the sauce. Already mentioned despise the smell of salt and vinegar chips to the point I cant stand the taste. lol.

And usually what comes out looks nothing like your actual signature. Sometimes they'll give you a little pen-like thing, but often as not you have to use a finger.
Bad enough the doctors offices make you update your info on a tablet. I have large hands, and to me those things are close to useless. Sometimes they have those pen things, othertimes not.

I posted this peeve on another thread:

Electronic gadgets charging cords/cables. 😖 And various charging adapter port configurations. I believe I heard that in Europe they forced standards on manufacturers.

USB
USB C
MICRO USB
LIGHTENING

….what else?
Didn't there use to be something called fire wire? I think it was just an Apple thing. Bad enough there are so many "other ends" for USB cables. I have an old digital camera which has an odd-sized one. I end up having to remove the SD card and using a reader to d/l photos from it. Don't use the camera very often...it's just something I leave in the car for those times I want/need to take a picture and don't have my good camera with me. If it gets stolen, no real loss.

I have an old mp3 player that has an odd connector on it too...I DO have the cable for that!
Now, with USB-C, it seems like nearly all manufacturers are jumping on-board this new standard, heck... even Apple! It seems basically every new device I've bought in the last year uses a USB-C adapter for charging, even my latest iPad. We now have one charging station that holds a small fleet of tablets and smart phones, all charging off the same voltage, and only using a few different connectors. Nice! Only took 40 years to get here.
About time IMHO. When did USB start becoming common? Early 00s maybe? Don't recall seeing it before that.

Why are options trying to do things online using a "smartphone" different than using a laptop or desktop? My phone supposedly has a higher level of technology than the Apollo moon missions yet I can't successfully renew my registrations on a dmv website with it.

Why is my laptop so slow? 15 mins and counting, Of course I'm not a bot, computer techs love my money and ignorance.
I'd rather do certain simple things in person with an actual paper check. 🤬🤬🤬.
