Tractor
2006 Montana model 2740
I have a montana 2740 tractor with loader. the handle lever got broken off and I pinched hit with a long bolt for a while but it has stripped out so I found a part that looks like it on ebay so I would just replace the entire control box and then have a new handle and box. Is Ebay a good source for this part. would others suggest a different supplier.

Welcome to TBN - Russ. I guess the real question - what is the price difference between the part at your local Montana dealership vs Ebay. Pictures can be deceiving.

It's the same question I ask when a fellow has to have repair work done on his tractor. He saved $$$ by buying the tractor from a dealership - three states away. Was that cost savings worth the BS he now has to go thru to get repair work done. As opposed to buying the tractor from a local dealership.

The ONE THING you can almost be 100% sure of. If it, for whatever reason, doesn't work - you will not be able to return it to Amazon. I've, unfortunately, had experience with this type situation.

Why would you try to return something to AMAZON you bought on EBAY?

Note: AMAZON has easy returns but I have never had issues at EBAY either, with anything worth returning.

Good for you - Eagle 1. My problem was with Amazon and it was my mistake to relate it to future problems Russ might experience. As far as I'm concerned - Amazon/Ebay - two peas from the same pod.

Really you could add any on-line market place to that. Mail order is different than in store purchase, I give you that.
Now when you have to drive at least 90 min round trip to anywhere, buying in store is more hassle and just as bad to return an item. Amazon/Ebay returns are normally free (they pay shipping) vs time/gas to return to store. UPS, USPS and FedEx pick up and deliver at my front door.
For me it is 30 miles of windy back roads to the nearest Walmart after you get off the gravel.
We tend to buy almost everything on-line that our wholesaler does not deliver or it's available in our little town of 400 nearby.

I understand and agree, completely, Eagle 1. I do all my looking/research on-line. Then go to the "big city" to purchase. That happens to be Spokane. Maybe once, sometimes twice a year I purchase on-line.
