Here comes the rain...

Yesterday afternoon I had 4.5 inches of new snow. This morning - 3.0 inches and it's going fast. It's raining and above freezing here. Predicted to rain the remainder of this week. Not even worth going out and starting the tractor. My elevation here is 2335. There should be lots of new snow in the mountains.

Too late to move so……

You say that... but we were mid-move into a temporary residence that we're still at. At least the house is back on the ground now, but this was the issue at the time...

Still lightly raining here. Most all the snow is long gone. Having unseasonable high day/night temps also. At 6 AM the temp is 47F here. What you wanna bet - they will name all these storms - the Pineapple Express.

And the drizzle keeps coming. The snow is ALL gone now. Total moisture to date - 11.95 inches. This is turning out to be a fairly normal year.

We've been on a cycle lately that seems to bring rain on Thursdays. It is humid enough here that even on dry days the morning condensation runs down the roof/downspouts like rain.

Most of the rain missed us...maybe 1/4" Sat. night/Sun. morning but that was it. Unfortunately, I also missed most of that 3 week span of nice weather...had a work project that kept me inside for most of it.

Am glad we did our annual foliage loop last weekend...most of it was gone this past one.

Trouble with home-made bread is that it doesn't keep more than a couple days. We just don't eat that much of it, so it gets stale/moldy and we have to toss it.
Put it in the fridge in a plastic zip lock bag. Ours keeps at least a week that way and I prefer it because it don't have the chemicals in it that store bought sponge bread has that keeps it lasting longer. Kind of reminds me of Hostess Twinkies. Shelf life is about forever and I swear they are baked in the wrapper as well...lol

Potato starch will keep bread from going stale for an extra day or two. Add 1/2 cup of potato flakes to the dough.

Eat it. Freeze it. Make bread crumbs for stuffing. Make bread pudding.
