Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 6:15AM. Areas of patchy fog early. Showers this morning, becoming a steady rain during the afternoon hours. High 58F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.

Never had any luck preserving left over calk, but I just can't seem to throw away a half used tube or cartridge until it gets too hard to use. A few years ago I bought a six pack of Colgate toothpaste on Amazon, and am just now getting to the last tube. It is still good.

That piece looks like a plum bob, Paul, but that turbine looking piece in the background makes me think its maybe some kind of device for smoothing air flow in a duct. Part of a vacuum cleaner?

Brought another pallet of firewood up from the shipping container yesterday and moved it into the garage. It's all manzanita, and that made it extra heavy. Tractor didn't seem to mind at all though. But the M62 is too tall to get into the garage, so the last few feet had to be done with a pallet jack. I was surprised how easy it was to move all that weight. Good thing, as I'm thinking about installing a wood stove at the new place and moving the firewood down there with the pallet jack. I can get three pallets into the box trailer, and two into the van, but I'd have no forklift on the other end to unload. So maybe I buy a forklift, or just rent one? Or do I even want to risk moving all that weight with the van? That's a lot to think about.

Fiddled just a bit with the van yesterday, then got back to packing for the next trip south. Took my bed apart, which rests on a 12 drawer pedestal and has a Cal King mattress. Wrestled the thing into the ProMaster, then loaded the pedestal, and still had room for a bunch more boxes. Today I'll take down the entertainment center and get most of it loaded into the trailer. Any space left will get machines out of the shop. Hope the rain holds off long enough to get it all loaded. Spent last night on the couch, not the first time.

Happy Hump Day folks.

Morning all;
A cool 25ºF this morning with just a skift of snow on the ground. I'll have to get it in gear shortly and go out and knock the snow of the 10x20 canopy that sits over the work bench me have been using this summer while the contractor has been working on the house. It is finally almost done for the year. Soffit, Fasia and Siding all James Hardi cement board the carpenter bees will be leaving the house alone now, of course everything else will be attacked.

It's nice inside the coal insert burning away keeping it in the mid 70's inside. I'm thinking this may be my last year for burning coal, knees don't like getting down low to shake and knife the grates to get the ash down into the ash pan. Well actually it's not the getting down it's the getting back up.
A good day to all
I don't burn coal, but even with firewood, I do what I think you mean by "knife the grates" to get the ashes to completely drop down into the ash pan. I finally bought a foam kneeling pad for when I need to kneel down and really work the ashes. It's been great a relief to my knees. Nice taste of snow. Our mountains got a nice dusting of snow this morning.

Good morning! 54 heading to upper sixty’s.
Slept good with no prescription pain medication on board but did have to take advill at 3am. Pt today and debating the pain pill before.

Paul I was thinking plumb bob also but there was no place to tie the string so ruled that out. I’ll just have to wait for the next clue.

Ever since I ordered a new microwave oven the one I have self healed. Typical.

With the estate house completely finished we are just waiting for a closing date. Inspection and survey completed.

I have the foam kneeling pads scattered all around, they are a great help.

We are thinking about replacing the coal with some propane gas logs. It will not have the cost savings that coal does even with the outrageous cost of coal the last few years ($470/ton) it's still a $1000 to $1500 per million btu less then oil or propane and pellets.
The bad thing is that the mini-split heat pumps are even with coal dollar wise till the temps get down to the mid 20's, but when it hits the teens or less the coal shines.

snow flurries outside very pretty

went to start snowblower, dead, looked for strange charger to strange Ariens 7.2 V EFI battery, couldn't find it,
proprietary connector of course. Ordered another one online. Over 200 sold last month. Tis the season.

got some velcro wraps in and redid rv hoses so they were put away more neatly for winter.
one front small storage compartment right behind right front wheel was soaked inside.
have door open trying to dry it out. I'm guessing water intrusion from the front, not the top but not sure I can
see without poking around. Wet mouse fur carpet will smell wonderful if I don't dry this out
where I keep my spare fire extinguisher and front windshield cover. Dried that all off, no harm

snow flurries remind me I need to get the cover put on. Need at least three sets of arms for that.

wish those gaskets for hot tub would hurry up. I could sure use a long hot soak.

Might be around Sat morning if you need a hand with the cover.

Good Morning
34° with a high under 40 and a possibility of passing rain or snow showers later this morning.

Yesterday, had a nice breakfast with the professor and my wife, ran some errands, assembled the oil drain cart, and christened it on wife’s RAV4. Forgot to take pictures though. Repaired a leaking water line in a friends basement and did some paperwork.

Today I get to see if I can land a jet, as I’ve got to go to Palm beach. Much smaller than an Airbus, but I can barely see the wing tip if I twist around and look behind me.

I’ll sign off with a puzzle, what is this for? If nobody recognizes it, I’ll add more pieces in a later post.
