65°F and 0 rain

Not sure what happened to yesterday, just sort of flew by and I didn’t get any mowing.

Guys did win at H&F. But the Gals made us earn it.

Off to Hilo town this morning. Kekoa gets his sutures removed. A couple of errands.

Should get some mowing in later.

Friends arriving late afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

got the oil changed in the rv, more difficult than I thought since it was further back under rv but I got it done.
plug came out hard all the way, surprising. Went to put it back in and it got to the end and just spun.
pulled it out and problem was obvious. Someone before me put way too much pressure on this and stripped the bolt.
Thankfully I had a spare...and it went on perfectly and the job got done.

what bothers me...is whether my young friend who did the last oil change stripped the bolt, didn't tell me, and put it back on with a ton
of loctite. ??
I will order another spare.

Breakfast this morning;

Sourdough bread slices on cast iron skillet in olive oil roasting both sides, Cheese, Bavarian smoked ham, cheese, sliced raw onions, cheese, put lid on to melt in and when melted top it with slices of avocado and sprinkle with Louisiana spices
Darn Frits,
You shouldnt be putting pictures of something like that on the internet ! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Sounds and looks scrumptious !

Good Afternoon Drew,
What I would be more concerned about is whether the threads in the oil pan have been damaged and or compromised ! Should be able to see their condition with a drop light or flashlight ! That would be a pain to drop the oil pan and install another ! Hopefully not the case !🙏

Scott, I looked in and then put my finger in there and pulled out some crud on the bottom, just a little.
bolt tightened normally, no snags or rough spots, and right at end some minor resistance to internal
rubber washer. Then tight. But hand socket tight, not ratchet gun.

after I was done draining the oil, I poured in about a third of a quart in of fresh oil and then let that drain too.
always hope I get the last crap in bottom.

yes, with that much damage to bolt, surely wonder about its dancing partner. Someone got the big rub...

being driven crazy by weather radio in living room. Just went off a third time.
big rain event on Sunday, I turned the alarm off

6000 miles on this oil change. I only use the prescribed Motorcraft semi synthetic and a Motorcraft oil filter.
I've read if you just religiously change the oil on this engine it will last a long time.
With 40k on it, should be like new.

after I ran the engine I went underneath and the oil drain plug was bone dry.
if it comes loose, very expensive day. I think next time I'll use Loctite too.

can only wonder how much damage is done before the oil pressure warning light goes on
guess it pays to look under engine pretty regularly for drips
but on long interstate trips, you could drain out and never know it.

6000 miles at 10mpg.
burned 600 gallons having fun, got to UP Michigan, OBX NC and South Florida.
thank goodness it's regular
this is still a fraction of what it costs to fuel a larger boat.

Day off to a mixed start
Kekoa did good atVet. Sutures removed. In and out in 15 min 🤙

Got back in truck and it wouldn’t start, just dash lights flashing and very low clicking sound. Called for Road service. Expired of course, but for $65 will send someone. They were there in maybe 20 mins. Truck started off jump. Drove home.

So Monday, I go to start truck and basically same scenario. Put on charger overnite. Drove it Wed, less than 10 miles, just to PO and back.

Now have appointment with Dealer for service for tomorrow . Is it just 4 yo battery gone bad or something else? Had similar when truck was nearly new and they claimed not to find problem. Been good since. Will take it in this afternoon to drop off and finish other errands. No mowing.

Good Morning.
29 when I got up, high of 48 under partly cloudy, but dry skies.

Yesterday, I accomplished some of my goals, got the hydraulic oil and filter changed in the Kubota. The new drain cart works well, it’s a little effort to crank the pump to empty it, there were ones with electric pumps, but they weren’t as low profile. Also had to add a piece of tubing to the end of the hose.

Got enough hay moved to the barn to make the boss happy.

Just realized that I never finished or sent this post.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.9C and it's presently 18C, overcast & calm. There was 7.5mm in the gauge @0900... I was pleasantly surprised at that as I didn't hear any rain overnight. More off'n'on rain predicted for today.

Very warm (top of 31C) yesterday. Fortunately the 'rounds into the shed' task went quickly. I then 'hid' in the house and wrapped all of the pressies.

Indoor tasks planned for today.

That's about it, take care all.
