Maybe a new truck Ford or Dodge?

Thing is, Ram only ran it for a few years.
Ram also replaced any CP-3 failed or not, free of charge.
Ford waited until they broke and ran them much longer than Ram
Thats a big difference.
I was given a loaner truck while they did mine (2 days)

go dump a cup of water in your tank with the cp3 and lets review in a month.

both have the same inherent problem.

OK, yeah I think we all know that.
Nobody’s disputing that, obviously. LOL
What I think is important is Ram replaced them all working or failed. Good.(y)
Ford waits till they fail. Bad. 👎

if the problem is the same, then as long you address the proper solution, the outcome will be the same.

The solution for ford was to keep the better pump and revise the fuel filter to catch more water and replace at shorter intervals.
Same outcome.

Hahaha. Dude, give me a break.
Fixing a problem before it happens versus fixing a problem after it leaves the owner broken down pulling a trailer?

NOT the same outcome.

Ram shows much more work towards keeping the customer from ever experiencing a failed pump- a terrible messy situation.

And my point is the CP3 is a Superior design in every way as far as overall LONG TERM reliability is concerned.

Maybe watch that video I posted and consider the design differences.

Again How many 2001 Duramaxes or 2003 + RAMs running CP 3's are dying due to exploded Injection pumps that destroy everything in the injection chain

My understanding is their have been several Revisions introduced to the CP 4 pumps in recent years.
I hope it is Enough.
I think we will keep our 2003 and 2004 CP 3 equipped Cummins powered Dodge trucks because they just seem to keep running with just basic maintenance.

I would Not purchase any new CP4 equipped diesel no matter who built it, that did not have extended coverage on that CP4 Especially a used one with some miles on it

When this type of failure happens to an owner with CP 4 it is a huge Financial burden if there is no warranty.

I guess you won’t be buying a Ford then.
I won’t touch one, especially knowing I have to wait for the pump to fail to get it fixed.

Hope it don’t fail in North Philly LOL

Even if under warranty, look at how many Ford owners raom the country with travel trailers, or hot shotters with trailers and they blow a pump 1,000 miles from home, possibly with kids, valuables, out in the middle of nowhere?

You better hope someone with scruples is coming to save you.

IMO, what Ford did sucked. Waiting for a pump that you know will glitter bomb a customers fuel system is a crappy, if not dangerous thing to do.

Step up and take care of your customers. Replace the pump before it fails like Ram did.

Nope Will be driving our 03 and 04 CP3 equipped Cummins Dodges for the foreseeable future.
They just keep running with basic maintenance.

I can deal with the little stuff.

There are endless stories of people with Rams waiting and waiting for back ordered parts and trying to get on mystery waiting lists. Then their nice truck decides to puke it's pump at the worst time possible. Just like this owner...... Ram is no different than the other's.

Recalled CP4 Fuel Pump Went out before I could get the replacement

No
I’m 100% certain that Ford’s warranty was only on the diesel engine. The drivetrain was only shorter 2020. I will bet you a six-pack of beer.
Rams was the entire powertrain the same years & miles.

Ford may have improved their warrant to match Ram.

Ford’s powertrain warranty is 5yr, 60,000 miles. The Powerstroke engine is 5yr, 100,000miles.
Rams entire powertrain Cummins diesel, Aisin transmission, rears, transfer case, etc.) is 5 yr 100,000 miles.

Ok, there were some important details left out of your original post I replied to. You made it sound to me like you were saying Fords powertrain warranty was only as good as the 3/36. I gotcha now.
