I have a guy nearby that makes pine shavings I should give him a call
Would think theyd go nicely in a tub grinder.

To go with the theme of clean look and no burning i would haul them off site with the dump truck and dispose or burn. Unless the grinder is coming back later.

What about the cutoffs being camp fire wood? Don't have to worry about chimney creosote. Any other bad reason Jon

Reviving an old thread from the summer. Over the fall months, I have been able to truck-out 6 loads of logs and haven’t really put a dent in the massive amount of logs. The storm in our area caused so much damage, all the log processing plants are at capacity. It’s actually difficult to get rid of pine logs and we have hundreds of them.

Then there’s the issue of the cut-offs and the pieces too short to put on log truck. I am handling this part of the task and I was able to find a local processor who would take the unwanted chunks & pine shorts.

Using the Challenger with single arm log grapple and 5,000lb HLA forks. Makes easy work out of odd shaped junk wood like this

We are getting good use out of the 261C and the new 500i.

Loading up with the log grapple forks on a 25* sunny morning in North Wilmington.

And onto the IH7500 dump truck

Down the steep driveway out of the property. This is a white knuckler getting out. Steeper than it appears.

Then on over to the wood processing plant

Jumped out and snapped a quick picture at the unloading pile. I feel blessed to have this facility in my area. It’s a bit longer drive than I would like, but it’s better than nothing.

I’m curious to see what the Customer decides to do with the gigantic brush piles.
That, along with the downed hardwood presents quite an opportunity.

One of the family members who calls himself a “biologist” wants to drill holes in the downed hardwood, place mushroom spores in the holes, and try to grow shitakes and other mushrooms in them, rather than harvest the hardwood logs for $$$

That's a lot to clean up! I collect the brush and downed trees for several neighbors, and burn it off every fall. Nothing like the volume you are dealing with though.
I particularly like the picture of the chainsaw sitting in front of all that WORK!
