38 outside this AM, heading to upper 40's.

Just trying to get back to normal, whatever that is.

We are ground soaked here. and more rain appears to be on the way. Kind of puts a damper on moving about the property. Gets messy and muddy quick.

Hope all have a good start to the work week, I need to get back into that routine too.

All my girls were raised respecting firearms and "manly" things, all excelled in higher education. If anything I would say they adapted and or changed their situations/environments to suit what they wanted to do.

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 24 to start going to 38 ! Lots of ice out there, but with the sun and some warmer temps this afternoon I hope to get rid of it ! Walked the DW carefully this morning to grab our paper !
The rifle my daughter shot her nice buck with was a .300 Ultra Mag. The rounds cost $5 each.
Kyle, your daughter is not only a Great marksman but a very attractive young lady ! Congrats to her on that fine looking buck ! I also am a Remington 1100 guy ! Shot skeet for many years ! I used to own my own reloaders but I sold them when I wasn’t shooting anymore !

Mostly, prayers to you and family ! 🙏
Wagtail, ditto to you and your family ! 🙏
Helo, I can picture your dog with the medicinal whiskey drum around his neck rescuing me from the cold ! 😉

Hope Al have a great day !

Morning all, 32 going up to 44 and clear.
Got one sheetrock panel up before son's gf came over and I vacated downstairs for them.
Off to store to pick up medicine and more veggies.

Got green light to start removing Christmas decorations, so that's next, then back to sheetrock.

Wow Wagtail, that news about neighbors son is devastating. We have a 16 year old son and I worry about him out on the road with friends and etc.

SIL had a son overdose, very troubled kid of the three. Sad going to a younger persons funeral.

Mostly - safe trip home.

Be well,

Good Morning
36° and going to 40 under a cloudless sky.

Yesterday, I got the finish on the speaker, the driveway plowed and the walks shoveled. But not much else. I felt lousy and had chills. I didn’t stop to take my temperature until I was done, because I had a good idea what the result would be. Pretty much 101 all day and through the night. The fever has broken, but now my nose is running like a cheap faucet. Negative COVID. I was supposed to go to Florida today, but I took the day off.
I’ll probably go over to the shop and see if I can finish up the speaker, but no other plans.

Popgadget, feel better soon.

our New England contingent is hard at work this morning cleaning up all this snow.
rain in forecast is alarming if it all translates to snow further North.

I am happy to let it melt today, looks pretty though

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 6:00AM. Overcast. High near 50F. Winds light and variable.
Only three dry days in the 10-day forecast, including this one.

Horrible news about the ill fated youngsters. Between social media, the horrible economy, and drugs, the future doesn't look nearly as bright for them as it did for me as a kid. I've talked with a few friend's kids recently, and some are struggling with addiction while others seem to be doing well in school and even have had summer jobs. Hard to tell what makes one lose their way so badly while most of the others seem to be doing so well. I can't imagine what parenting is like these days with all that going on, but thank goodness you folks here seem to have figured it out for your families.

All this shotgun talk reminds me I need to make some room by selling my dad's old Ponsness/Warren progressive shotgun shell reloader. They're still in business, but judging from their website they've got a huge backlog and are having supply line problems. Maybe after tax refund money starts flowing in Spring I'll get off my butt and put an ad or two out there. I should do the same with an Ohler 33 chronograph. I somehow ended up with two, and will probably never even use one of them again.

Plug and pins came in so I could wire up some rear speakers for the Dodge van, so I took care of that yesterday. It has to go back to the dealer for some warranty work, and I'll get them to tell the computer to start using the newly installed speakers. Can't just do it myself with a code reader. Even though it was sunny outside, it took two sessions to get the work done since my fingers needed thawing out. Thermometer worked hard to break 50F. Hurry up, Spring!

Amazon delivered a new popcorn popper yesterday for the microwave, and the first batch came out really well with only a few kernels left unpopped. Much better than the ancient air popper, and a lot healthier than oil in the old Revere Ware pot I've been using for fifty years.

Caught up with an old grade school friend over a long phone call. He recently finished physical therapy for his second hip replacement and is getting back to a more mobile life. Also dealing with a lot of family drama, unfortunately. But he's still living in the home he grew up in, has just started Social Security, and is playing in a rock band for spending money, so he's having fun and enjoying life. It's never too late. Told him about the new house down south, and he wants to do a Facetime tour of this place before I sell it. Maybe today?

What little rain we've gotten has still been enough so that the weeds are popping up everywhere. Gonna need to do some spraying today before the next rains hit.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a wonderful start.

Brother is upset that a week after finishing his paxlovid he has a fever and is still testing positive for covid after a negative covid test 5 days ago and he thought he was through with it all. He will check with his Dr. today he thinks he has rebound covid.

You are that far away !
Swill Alps rescue dogs are named after St Bernard's Pass

Mine is named after Berne city.
They are similar, like brother from another mother 😁

Just one thing bothers me. Is there such thing as "medicinal whiskey" ?
I am pretty sure that all kinds of whiskey (along with cognac) are "medicinal" by default. At least that's what I try to explain to my wife

Meriam Webster sez:
Medicinal: : tending or used to cure disease or relieve pain

A good Bourbon works better than ibuprofen to relieve pain in my case, so I'd say ethyl alcohol is indeed medicinal.
