Morning all, 32 going up to 40 and thick clouds.
Off to Dr. this morning, who knows what I'll do after that.

Buppies-hang in there, don't stress yourself out. Hope you feel better soon.

Be well,

Down to the harder panels with pipes and stuff. Which means I am almost done with this phase.

Good morning,
26° now, high around 28° cloudy skies may become partly cloudy this afternoon. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.

Snow clean up went about as well as possible, heavy wet crap plowed fine on the paved part of the driveway. The gravel back driveway I tried to leave about an inch or so, came out good enough.

No real plans for today just take it as it comes.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Buppies, hang in there. Praying for you.

We have good friends who's son has been battling cancer for years now. It came back, all over. Yesterday he had all day surgery, and during the surgery his heart stopped and they had to perform CPR to bring him back. They say he is bleeding as fast as they can give him blood. Not looking good for him.

Then I'm watching youtube videos of people having their bank accounts emptied by scammers, who after stealing peoples identity, convince the phone company they have "lost" their phone, and get a replacement SIM in a new phone (of the person who they stole the identity), and now have access to the 2FA texts to steal their money.

Thomas, you working too hard.
Got a couple things to run out for today. need to stop the pellet stove and clean it. I've burned close to a ton already this year.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:15AM. Partly cloudy. High 68F. Winds light and variable.
Today is the only dry day in the 10-day here. Looks like both homes will get hit pretty good with rain tomorrow, and it'll last through at least the end of the 10-day forecast. The weather guessers are using terms like "atmospheric river"...

The Xfinity tech showed up a half hour early yesterday, what a surprise, as most run late. He replaced the cable from the monument at the street, then cleaned up the cable inside the house by replacing a splitter and taking out a few couplers. Speeds on the WiFi didn't improve much, and he blamed it on the WiFi. I did some digging, and the 802.11ac radios in the Xfinity modem are supposed to be good for 800 Mbps, but I'm only seeing half of that. I went around and disabled all the WiFi security cameras, which were also sited as problematic, and saw no improvement. I don't have any ethernet capable computers, so I can't test the speed of the ports on the Xfinity modem. But the Xfinity app on the iPhone sez the modem is seeing 118% of my plan speed, which is 1 Gbps. So now I'm looking at a new mesh system to replace the Xfinity WiFi, but I don't see any way to turn off the Xfinity WiFi should I go that way. There doesn't appear to be any way to control which WiFi channels it uses, either, and the WiFi mapping tool I use shows that the WiFi in several nearby homes is using the same channels. So I'm not convinced that adding a new mesh system will improve things if I can't tune the channels on it, and so far, I haven't found one that will. If that's the case, I should probably just drop the service level of the Xfinity package and save some money every month. Even at 400 Mbps, it's ten times faster than the Starlink system at the house up north, and the only time I ever need all that bandwidth is when downloading big system updates on the computers or the GPS.

I was hoping I could get the tech to add a couple of new cable drops, but he said they don't do any new in wall installations because they had too many techs falling down through ceilings.😳 So I'm on my own there.

Then there's the new tech the manufacturers are touting in the WiFi routers. It's supposed to be much faster because it uses a new 6 GHz frequency band, and since it's new, maybe you don't have as many collisions with your neighbors. But the higher frequency has less range, so you need more nodes in the mesh to cover the same area. No free lunch, huh?

I did get a little real work done; a bit more schlepping got all the hanging shelves in the garage filled and most of the junk from the mezzanine put away. Then I repositioned one of the security cams so I can see if the back porch is flooding. Finished up loading a few more things into the trailer for the trip home.

I've got some returns to drop off today, and maybe a little grocery shopping. Not sure what else will pop up...

and so it begins
pansies planted
big load of stuff coming in from Amazon today, seed trays, grow lights, etc
told my neighbor across the way not to think I was growing something illegal here
she just laughed

put an old bedspread down under that area, don't want to spill anything on the carpet.
there won't be much started here that doesn't soon go out to the greenhouse.
I think I'm going to put it under that birdhouse on corner of garage, though that blocks morning sun
no good place to put it but like being able to attach a cable to side of garage so despite six bags of sand on bottom rails, one
last line of defense. Alternative is to put it out in middle of yard.
Visions of it landing on my roof...

Was 29, still and silent when I went out, going to 46. Real pretty day.

Mostly, I'd love to try your spaghetti sauce.

Buppies, praying for you and your wife.

Ron, good news on doctor visit. Enjoy your snow.

I was pretty much glued to the laptop yesterday working on tax prep and annual statements. Probably good since I've got some ankle issues and would have been otherwise tempted to overdo it.

RNG, I got rid of Xfinity modem/router. Installed a Netgear Modem. Then hooked up a TP-Link X55 Mesh system To it. Gets rid of the monthly modem rentals. They sent a message for a newer Netgear modem with faster upload speeds is available. But 950mbps download and 25mbps upload seems to be plenty fast for my needs.

67°F and no rain.

I think I got the fence fixed. The only place I think he could possibly get under was bottom of a swale that it looked like the bottom could get nosed up enough to squeeze under. I fashioned some metal pins to stake it down. Have done similar in prior years using tent pegs, but I didn’t have any. I’m concerned he may be jumping the fence. If so I have no fix.

Hope to get fuel tank and system flushed on my LS today

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning! Low of 26°, heading to 56°, sunny and light breezes. Going to be a nice day!

The weather guessers are now predicting a good chance of rain / snow for Friday. Hopefully we will get something dropping from the sky this time....

Errands were successfully accomplished yesterday. I was even notified that an order that was expected Wednesday, arrived early. Got that picked up too.

I wonder if the plane wreckage that was found is truly Amelia Earharts plane?
Maybe another mystery solved.....

Today's agenda may include cutting and installing some lattice around the deck bottom. Not needed to keep any critters out, just for appearance. May as well take advantage of the weather.

If I REALLY get motivated, might get back into rebuilding of the deck project. That's definitely more intensive, so may hold off for even better weather, since it's a multi day project.

Everyone have a great day!

Back from hospital, still nothing obvious found.

Bef - sorry to hear about friends son, that is heart wrenching.

Xfinity issues here are not about speed to modem. It's about lag from modem out.
I can drop files to my network storage on ethernet from my laptop very fast.
But still get laggy Teams and zoom calls and internet.

I have 2 modems, one xfinity and one that i bought for the apartment. The one I bought is faster on Wifi, by a lot. But they have something somewhere that seems to slow response down, even on their tv control.
I have a ticket open, but they never seem to figure it out.

I read something on that same thing. Man, that is spooky.
